Re: M4L, Push, PDK, and other methods.
Right, that's what tipped me off that the future of the PDK might be unclear.

Re: Push Cover / Stand
This stand is really great. I've been using it for over a year. Very sturdy, light, strong enough for lots of clamp on accessories, and the perfect size for push.

Re: Cheap Wireless in-ear monitor ideas?
Looking around sweet water and musiciansfriend they all look so expensive - at least $200 and most at least double that. Am I missing something? On first thought it seems like you could use on of those 12V car audio fm transmitters along with a pocket $5 pocket fm radio. I just wonder if those trans...

Cheap Wireless in-ear monitor ideas?
I have been using my Bose earphones to get the click into my ears while playing. This setup works really well, and I can hear the ambient sound as well. But, the cords are a pain to deal with, and I'm trying to figure out a way to do this wirelessly. This is short range and quality is not a huge dea...

Re: Best mic / pickup methods for live violin.
I got the stagebug and am pretty happy with the sound. It's also very nice to have a boosted signal for a change. Now the last thing I need to do is run it into a guitar effect pedal (EXH micro POG). There is an aux out that has a significantly lower signal strength than the XLR out, but then runnin...

Re: How I manage many live sets on stage
Alberto: the MIDISimulator app will send a midi message you specify to any midi out port on your machine, including the IAC bus. You have to configure the midi simulator to use that bus, and then give it a CC number and value in the two number boxes, and then click the button to send the midi messag...

Turn it up.
Actually you'll get some good sound with some basic sidechain compression. Everybody seems to love overproduced stuff right now. It takes a ton of practice though.

Re: Crazy Live Setup from Deadmau5
I don't think he was talking about the quality of the audio. Instead I think he was talking about how you can spend hours mixing and mastering your track to perfection while the live sound is less refined. That's why he started talking about how he is using a compressor, etc..

Has anyone ever retained their product authorizations after re-installing OS X? I'm using Time Machine and am wondering where they are stored.

True that. I guess you end up maintaining your own presets anyway.

Weird TriggerFinger factory defaults?
I noticed that the factory default CC's for the TriggerFinger set both the 5th knob and third slider to CC71. What a pain!
Does anyone know why this is? I set the knob to CC73 because nothing else on the controller used it.

Neat Simple filter instrument
1) Create a sustained (pads?) instrument with an LP filter and send delay. 2) Map midi knobs to freq, res, and delay send. 3) Make a midi loop with sustained A, B, C, D, E, F all together. Maybe shift them up or down a note a couple of times. The freq knob effectively changes the primary note in the...
