Re: Mastering plugins....?
Thanks so much for all the replies. Too helpful. Really trying to work on the production part of my music right now, so it is great to know what people have found useful WITHIN Ableton and as 3rd party (i.e. Ableton's EQ 8 and Limiter vs. others)...that's what I was trying to get a flavor for. Again...

Mastering plugins....?
Heard some people talking about mastering plug-ins to throw on the master channel e.g. Ozone and the Vengeance Suite. I was hoping I could get some people's thoughts on these and how worth it you feel they are/how much of a difference you feel they actually make/how much of what these plugs do you c...

Re: Im a noob and i need some advice.
To resample, you need to create a new audio track. In the drop down menu where it says "audio from" you need to select resample. Then arm the track. Now, whatever you record (so...you need to hit record) will be recorded as an audio file in the resample track. So, you'll need to solo whate...

DCAM Synth Squad users
Does anyone know of any video/written tutorials/other manuals etc. for these synths (Cypher, Strobe, Amber) as well as Fusor besides the ones that FXpansion has posted on youtube/the manuals that come w? Looking to kind of dive deeper and get some alternate ideas and input along w my own tweaking. T...

Re: audio sample organizer
I just have a folder on my desktop that you can access through Ableton. Within it just labeled folders with "kick", "snare", "vox". Within that you could rank the separate files based on 5 star folder, 4 star, etc. right? Maybe I am not sure exactly what you're getting ...

Re: Sound for the hard of hearing
That is a rough situation. You're really good to want to help them. To me, frequencies that are lost are lost...from what you said, their ears are already sort of acting as notch filters--blocking frequencies resulting in specific loss along the spectrum of human hearing. I would think that the only...

Re: Glueing Sub Bass On Screaming Lead Line
Just a simple idea...you could mod the volume w an ADSR envelope. Use a short delay w a sustain value lower than the attack value so the attack gives the note an initial punch when it first hits. And, maybe just check your attack, too. If it's too slow i.e. doesn't have enough time to reach full vol...

Re: Total newbie question about monitoring midi on tracks
Are you trying to play on the same track i.e. w the same synth? Make sure whatever instrument you're using is set to polyphonic so the new voices you're still playing can still be heard. You could always just copy the MIDI track too, arm that, and then jam that over the first one too. Hopefully this...

Check this out. I can't really speak from comparison...but this is what I use. Small and can be powered from a laptop and w a good # of inputs, too.

Yep. That's exactly right. Just pull down the master fader to -3 db...or -6db....or whatever db you want.

Deleting Ableton/plug-in pictures
I am trying to clean up some space on my hard drive. Was cleaning a bunch of pictures off of it and noticed there are a lot of pics of various M4L set ups, random Ableton screen shots, pics of faders, sliders, buttons on some of the synths I use. I was looking at them in my "All Images" fo...

Re: skrillex and the doors
I thought this was a cool idea for a project. I haven't heard any of the others, but I guess Pretty Lights made some music with a country singer (I forget the name).

Re: Choosing where sounds come from....
DangerousDave - Thanks for the idea man. I will definitely try that out. I just have a feeling too that it is my skill level/self-critical thinking that is holding this track back from sounding completely where I want it. We will see how it goes. steko - that article was pretty awesome. And the rack...
