Re: splitting a smaller keyboard for 2 non-adjacent octaves.

If I'm understanding you correctly, use a midi effect rack, and in the key zone you want to lower place a pitch shift. Let the other zone cover the rest of the keys, put your instrument after the rack. Something like this (with note zones that work for you, and with your instrument instead of an ana...

Re: Sidechain Issues When "Audio From" is a Group

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but one thing you can do to work around it is to solo both the group and your pads track at the same time (hold ctrl and hit the solo button) and also send the groups audio to a return track instead of master while you're soloing: https://i.imgur.com/WMfwjix.gif thi...

Re: Select and bypass devices with midi controller

So most midi footswitch controllers can output either one or two signals when you hit the switch (one for on, one for off), but a lot of them have software that lets you program the switch to cycle through a series of values. I have a logidy umi3 that does that. Looking at the FBV manual it doesn't ...

Re: Select and bypass devices with midi controller

You should be able to do something like this in a midi effect rack I think: https://i.imgur.com/NV6hoOp.png then map your pedal to the vertical bright blue bar, aka the chain selector . the signal coming into the track will be passed to the chains that would be hit by drawing a line down from the ch...

Re: set always modified immediately after opening?? [solved but still confusing]

this is wild conjecture since I obviously have no idea how ableton is written but looking at a hex dump of the file i assume is storing an undo list, it looks like it may have grabbed a one or more values coming from the lfos while opening the set. part of how i figured out where the modified input ...

Re: set always modified immediately after opening?? [solved but still confusing]

as far as i know, no automation, no modulation, and yup the core library ones:

the track itself has a single speaker-off event and a small amount of volume automation

Re: set always modified immediately after opening??

Ok so I figured out how to remove the behavior but I don't know why it's happening: I had a couple max lfos mapped to knobs on a frequency shifter on an audio effect rack in a midi track. The track was frozen. Those knobs also had midi mappings defined for them from before I had decided to use LFOs ...

set always modified immediately after opening?? [solved but still confusing]

I've run into a strange thing, wondering if anyone else has seen this before: I have a set that always has an undo entry and a modification marker immediately after I open it. Something is modifying the input gain of ... something. Everything seems fine otherwise, but it seems very weird. Has anyone...

Re: Clips sound different on the same instrument

the little red bars at the bottom are velocity controls for the notes, the notes get darker in color the quieter they are. in your first image, they're up by the max value of 127, in your second they're much lower. try selecting some or all of the notes and dragging them up.

can i make devices off by default when i add them?

i do a lot of freeform stuff recording from session into arrangement and since live doesnt put a "device on" automation marker in when you add one on the fly it can be easy to have a bunch of stuff on in the "wrong" spots when i go back to structure and edit a recording. currentl...

You could group all the effects and save the effects rack.

Re: Set up MIDI input with split point to seperate right hand from left hand

I believe you could arm both tracks, put both instruments in an instrument rack and modify the key zone under each racks chain list so they exclude each other : https://i.imgur.com/NL7NBxp.png you could also do both instruments in the same track if you just want different instruments section 18.5 of...

Re: Can you route midi effect plugins to an audio track?

the processing that needs to be done for a midi effect is very different from an audio effect, so in general no not as far as i'm aware. what type of audio and effect are you trying to apply?

Re: Using keyboard built in sounds for song export

It looks like you should be able to record audio from it over usb as long as the driver is installed, according to the DAW section of http://cdn.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/ ... _e01_W.pdf
