Re: Novation circuit

Well circuit is a standalone musical sketchpad that requires no computer. It's nothing compared to a full-on Ableton Live rig, but it's a piece of gear you can take anywhere (it can work on batteries), and you can sketch out song ideas. Plus it's cheap as chips. I'm a fan!

Re: Learning Push 2 Resources

One thing that still bugs me about the Push, even in its latest incarnation, is the lack of access to Record Quantization.
I would love it if someone contradicted me!!

Edit - doh!!!!

Newbie Q: turning off the fancy scale modes

Scales mode is great for playing, but....
Is it possible to get rid of the scales system, so that each pad represents a different note in the scale?
This would be real handy for dealing with samplers and setting up plugins like Battery!

Re: Assigning footswitch ports?

I have the same issue.
Looper mapped great to the APC40 with a Boss FS6.
No such luck through the Push.
I don't want to have to use my APC40 just to act as a MIDI interface for a single pedal!

Bumping this post as I too need this issue solved!
I've mailed support, so will post any reply I get.

Re: How long til we can use 64 pads with drum rack

Here's a big cheat solution:
Use Native Instruments Battery in an instrument rack.
That works perfectly in chromatic mode!

Re: Push Keyboard scale?

I was impressed to see the diatonic modes on the Push. Having learnt about these as a kid, I have always been surprised at how few musicians know what they are and what they mean! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mode_(music) Mixolydian is great for blues as the root chord's seventh chord is a dominant ...

Re: Learn to play ableton push or piano?

There's a guitar element to this question too. Playing scales up a push does not have a dissimilar feel to playing scales along a fretboard. I'm not that convinced that learning one or the other is that important. There's the same core skill of combining notes to play chords, and being able to play ...

Re: Pitch shifting in Ableton.

I can also recommend the Native Instruments option.
I was looking for a solution for this problem, till I realised that Guitar Rig comes with a pitch pedal effect.
You can use it in combination with the Splitter Tool in Guitar Rig to produce a good clean harmonizer effect.
It works in real time too...

OK, I'm coming to the party a bit late here, but I've got another solution:
