Re: Send off to be mixed. What do I do with the return tracks?
^i wish i knew this 6 months ago! i don't suppose it includes the sub-tracks in drum racks though? I generally do seperate stems for my kicks, snares, etc. A more general question for you, tarekith - when you are mastering from stems, how many do you prefer to work with and which individual elements...

Re: Send off to be mixed. What do I do with the return tracks?
you have two options really, the one you choose probably depends on the type of flexibility you want to give the guy mixing your track. the first is to include a mix of the return in the main stems. for example, if you have a dry snare track going through a return with some reverb, you would bounce ...

Re: Know My Tempo
Hi Thanks for the answers guys. Tap tempo is not really a viable solution as I would have to record (audio) my playing to another device and then tap into live while listening to the recording (a bit long winded). I wasn’t suggesting you do that. All you have to do is play a few bars, get a feel fo...

Re: Know My Tempo
i'm not sure there is an easy way to do what you want
if i were you i'd use the tap tempo function, which allows you to play the tempo 'live', and live will set to that speed.

if it is powered from firewire it is bus powered. if it requires a connection with a seperate plug to mains power then not.

Re: Another MacBook Thread (buying advice needed)
i decided against the retina model, as the a sharper display on some apps is not a price worth paying (around 300 extra) and performance hit.
I got the top-spec non retina 15 model, and am very happy so far.

Re: Mac or PC Laptop
I suggest you have a trawl through this forum and elsewhere on the web for the mac v pc debate. believe me, it's a well covered topic! my personal view, as someone who switched from pc to mac 3 years ago, is that the extra initial expense of buying a mac is worth it, because of the more hassle-free ...

Re: Which new MacBook Pro to get
Hi One thing to think about the new retina display macbook pro is that it is truly not upgradable. The new batteries are glued inside the body and the ram is soldered to the motherboard. So if you want more RAM you need to pay Apple price for it when you buy it. The one thing about the "old&qu...

Re: Which new MacBook Pro to get
hello, i bought a new MBP last week I decided not to buy the retina model. the main reason being I am not convinced the extra resolution will add very much to my experience - some third party apps might even look worse until the developers get around to updating them. Secondly, whilst i liked the fa...
