Re: analog style step sequencing with push...possible?

... I also wonder if it will be possible to sequence over Midi/Rewire (into Reason in my case)... ...and hardware synths in my case ;-) If push would feature analog sequencing, I would instantly buy it. otherwise i´ll stick with my apc and my next purchase will be this: http://farm7.static.flickr.c...

analog style step sequencing with push...possible?

Ok, next thread about the new products. Maybe a Mod can give a quick answer: Will it be possible to use push as an analog style step sequencer. Above every vertical row of buttons there is a dedicated encoder. That would make a nice layout for such an application. Or asked differently: Will the step...

hm, that sounds promising...

thanks!

Re: can a windows netbook handle this?

netbook's do not really meet Live's minimum system requirements (Windows: 2 GHz Pentium® 4 or Celeron® compatible CPU or faster (multicore CPU recommended). ok, that´s an information. then a cheap, small notebook, or what about the new windows 8 tablets? they should be able to run live. Here's what...

what does that mean?

to claryfy my initial post further: The audio signals of the instruments connected to live via midi won´t be routed into live. they´ll go straight into a small hardware-mixer with my fx on the returns and from there into an Amplifier / PA

can a windows netbook handle this?

I´m planning to get a live setup together consisting of hardware instruments and fx. I´d like to use ableton live exclusively for routing, recording and playback of midi signals from and to the instruments ( with some of live´s native midi-effects). I think since there´s no audio-processing involved...

Re: 1 more VS thread. Midi Keyboard: Akai, Novation or Arturia?

Well I've used Automap for over year and not found any bugs. I had no probs, too with a nocturn and AM 3.7. But then I bought an impulse and installed AM 4.0 and this screwed up my whole system. It took me hours to get my computer up and running again ( yes I know PC 8) ) just to realize that the n...

Re: 1 more VS thread. Midi Keyboard: Akai, Novation or Arturia?

I also was more for the Akai because I like the velocity sensitive pads with note repeat you will not like them anymore once you tested them 8) but there are lots of tutorials around how to modify the pads to make them actually work. so if I buy the Novation I would have to look for a used MPD18 fo...

Re: 1 more VS thread. Midi Keyboard: Akai, Novation or Arturia?

automap is a buggy pita and literally redundant if you rack up your instruments and fx and use the macros (at least in a live setting where all your instruments are prepped according to what you want to do with them). Novation Keyboards have good keys but the rest is of poor built quality. especiall...

Made up my mind:

I got tired of always having to sit in front of a screen, when I want to make music. Needed a real instrument again, had some money left, ordered a Mopho yesterday 8)

Re: hooking up mophos ;-)

You can manage the workflow that you're looking for, although I admit it'd be a bit awkward. You'd have to filter out CC messages from the Mopho and echo them back out the sequencer's MIDI outs. Thaught about that, too but...meeeh  Personally I get around this just by using a separate MIDI co...

Re: hooking up mophos ;-)

Ok, I found this in the manual: Local Control: Off, On—When on (the default), the keyboard and front panel controls directly affect Mopho. When off, the controls are transmitted via MIDI but do not directly affect the “local” synth (that is, Mopho). This is primarily useful for avoiding MIDI data lo...

Re: hooking up mophos ;-)

I checked the manual (which turned out to be available online) and yes, there's the ability to turn off "Local Control" so that the keyboard only sends MIDI and doesn't play notes on the synth itself. It's one of the global options. First off, thanks for your reply, nice, but meanwhile i ...

hooking up mophos ;-)

Hi, I´m interested in buying my first hardware synth: A DSI Mopho Keyboard. Since I´m new to the whole hardware thing I´ve got a question: I already found out, that it´s possible to send midi messages out of the mopho´s keyboard. So is it possible to detach the keyboard from the actual sound module ...
