midi controllers and MAX

thinking of using this to program a patch which will allow me to group together incoming messages from different controllers, alter and reassign them, but before I start to learn I have a question - will MAX cause me any problems in terms of latency, and are there any particular recommendations as t...

you can bracket it with eq and compression to control your worries about level or it sounding particularly messy.I use it as part of chains, but not on it's own.

I don't have ant other midi devices, so never tried. The global menu allows you to: edit parameters for operating mode, which I think needs changing if you are plugging a BCR into other midi equipment or a BCF; Global RX channel, which defines which channel the BCR receives prog change on; footswitc...

http://www.mediamax.com/stutter/Hosted/bcfredit.exe the other editor. You might need to save out the sysex and send it with midi-ox, or whatever the free mac one is, or you might be ok. http://www.mediamax.com/stutter/Hosted/BCRSystemfiles.zip load of presets pretty much the same other than being on...

there is a global edit menu, but it won't do what you want. To enter it hold down EDIT and press STORE, then use the top encoders as for editing normally. Check the end of the BCR manual for explanation. To change channel there are a couple of options. Edit it each one on the BCR - not that laboriou...

about the rawinput and midi stuff - had a google and couldn't find a program that would discriminate different keyboards in windows and allow mapping, which surprised me - I expect everything to already pre-exist on the internet somewhere, it saves me from having to learn how to program. Anyway, I d...

it occured to me that some of the functions maybe won't work if you have the tip box open. Also screen res and skin will affect functionality. If you have any of these problems just ask in this thread and I'll get back to you.

Autohotkeys script - focus, navigation, looping, etc

Posted this in the Autohotkeys thread in the General forum - http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42628 - but since I used to come on here a lot and only look in this forum, ,thought I'd put a note in here for anyone that does the same. Any questions, could you continue the discussion in the...

So here's mine, or at least the parts of it that could be relevant for other people: get it here: http://www.mediamax.com/stutter/Hosted/Stutter%27s%20Ableton%20Hotkey%20script.rar there's an htm readme in there which explains the key bindings and their uses, these are also commented within the scri...

Rozling - the ctrl-c, ctrl-v method of loading still works:
- select clip slot
- set focus on browser
- select clip to load, ctrl-c
- return focus to clip slot, ctrl-v

That avoids resolution and skin problems.

if I remember correctly - I'm assuming you have something set up as MCU v-pots - the first v-pots will control send1 amount, the second send2, and so on. It's important to understand that some functions, like pan, are global, and so the eight encoders will work for the eight tracks you have selected...

good work Rozling. That kaykit util looks rather useful. I'm hopefully (assuming I get no more powercuts today) going to sort mine out today. I think there's probablt some way that the browser/cli p loading thing can be done without mousecliks, so that screen resolution is no longer a problem. Colou...
