Re: Is this possible with M4L?

Have a look at the Sonnus G2M guitar to midi converter. No extra pickup needed. You just put it in the signal chain like a regular stomp box. Its tracking looks very good and the latency ridiculous. And it's something like 100$. It's monophonic. Then you can play any synths you want with your guitar...

Re: Is this possible with M4L?

So... just get m4L and experiment.
Sure you can also do a lot of interesting processing without Max.

Re: Is this possible with M4L?

I don't think you can save things in demo mode.
It's very fast to do: plugin>sigmung~> sigmund~left inlet to mtof> then it's up to you...
You need to download the sigmund~ external thought.

Re: Is this possible with M4L?

Just use sigmund~ or pitch~ . It will output the midi note number of the played note. After that you put a [mtof] if you want the frequency. Then use and modulate this data with whatever you want. I did a simple tuned frequency shifter with this method. It's very easy.

Re: Is this possible with M4L?

You said you don't want a "Audio to MIDI conversion", but what you discribe is an audio to midi thing.
And yes it's doable and not difficult.
The major "problems" are the latency, and the monophonic tracking restriction.

Re: Backing up on macs

None of ours external drives support the installation of a operating system on it, like Windows XP or Vista or MAC leopard etc, etc. 8O I've install Leopard and then restore with time machine on an external WD about a week ago after my HD crashed, and I'm using it right now. And it works well. Stra...

Re: Max4live.info: Object oriented - live.step part two now up

Thanks.
I was searching a way to have the step count of each sequences without using one live.step per sequence... then Mike arrives!
I thought that the first sequence was kind of a master, but no.
As always, you rock!

Re: Can Ableton Live follow a live band?

it would be good to have it inside Ableton.

If you have max for live;
you can also use it with max/max runtime in conjunction with Live.

Re: trigger from audio signal?

Here it is. That's a very basic version where you only have start/end sample positions controls; you can also choose to play the sample in reverse. Drop a sample for the kick and the snare. Kick takes left input ... right is for the snare. Just put it on an audio track and let's go! I'll made a vers...

Re: trigger from audio signal?

Another solution is to patch a simple sampler as an audio effect. That way you don't need to send info between devices on different tracks. I've made a simple one which doesn't have funky functions for the moment, but it takes two mic inputs (I use it on kick+snare with contact mics) and respond ver...

Re: Schwartzinator Reverse Engineering

Is there an easy way to edit the schwartzinator so that I can create my own scale/key of the chords? Yes... If you learn Max. Maybe you can spend days looking at the patch to discover what happens, but you'd better not believe you're a genius and taking some time to learn it. The documentation is w...
