option for destructive edit in session clip
i'm sure this has been requested before, but i really think this ability would be a HUGE workflow improvement over dragging to arrangement, cropping/splitting, consolidating, then dragging back into session. i'm also sure it's technically challenging to implement 'properly', but i would be happy wit...

Re: I predict a major Live+Push update soon
i hope not. push is such a well engineered piece of machine. the only thing i'd want would be a double grid version... like a 16 x 8 push pro.

Re: midi mixer recommendation
that'd be perfect if it had endless encoders with feedback... i wonder how hard it'd be to mod the bcr2000 into a different case. it just looks cheap and plastic-y.Jekblad wrote:more info on DS1

Re: midi mixer recommendation
the mcu looks really nice, but yeah... kind of expensive. i don't even necessarily like faders unless they do total recall/snap-back when changing device/focus... same reason i want endless encoders. i just wish there were another prosumer quality controller like the bcr2000 with a bunch of endless ...

Re: Push Pong
very nice! reminds me of this thing: http://www.earslap.com/page/otomata.html you can get pretty complex patterns going if you set the initial conditions right, like... a group of notes getting 'stuck' in a corner, periodically broken up by another 1 or 2. what you have is great, but can you set the...

midi mixer recommendation
i like having immediate access to the main track-level parameters without having to click through menus/sub-menus. are there any form factors available that look like a traditional mixer without the audio i/o? ideally, the controller would be laid out like a traditional mixer with dedicated endless ...

Re: arrangement record capture 'everything'?
sure, i could record live to arrangement like any other midi controller, but what i'm asking about is the ability to print the step-sequencer pattern variations on each loop pass to arrangement, such that each iteration's changing pattern is captured. the session clip would always contain my last p...

Re: arrangement record capture 'everything'?
ahh okay that's what i thought. i see a lot of cool live performances where people are tweaking/adding/removing on the fly, mid-pattern. i thought the wizards at ableton found a way to print all that dynamic stuff to arrangement. kind of takes you out of the live performance mode if you have to dupl...

arrangement record capture 'everything'?
i can't get anywhere to actually play with a push in person, but i've decided that i want it, just based on what i've seen online. my question is whether you can drive the arrangement recording from the push and if so, whether everything gets captured and played back exactly as you banged it out. fo...

2nd hand push registration?
i'm thinking of picking up a used push, then i notice in my ableton account that you have to register it? is there any restrictions or fees associated with transferring a push license? i already own the live 9 suite. thx.

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
i've been researching a bit for a step up from my dinky all-in-one xiosynth and i think i've settled on the roland quad capture. all the reviews are good on the preamps, headroom and reportedly solid drivers. not too expensive either.
