Re: Resource Allocation
Memory usage didn't change, remained at 1.98 gigs out of 6.

Resource Allocation
Hey, I have recently tried to test out how my processor handles the amount of voices being produced because I purchased a new computer. I started by opening up massive and setting the number of voices per note to 64. Ableton reported my CPU usage at 150% but there was no increase in fan speed so I d...

Re: Sample Rate
Well, in theory, every signal which does not contain frequencies above half of the sampling frequency can be perfectly reconstructed from its samples (Shannon-Whittaker sampling theorem). In practice, you cannot reconstruct a sampled signal perfectly. How well depends on the quality of your equipme...

Re: Sample Rate
The reason I didn't explain in my previous response is because I have already done so 3 times, which is why I have such a snippy response. I'll check out that paper when I finish installing Komplete 7.

Re: Sample Rate
Yea I'm an electrical engineer, although I didn't enjoy the actual coursework very much I'm happy that it gave me a good understanding when it comes to the processing of analog and digital signals. I've seen similar function block diagrams in the past and have to say I'm not interested in creating m...

Re: Sample Rate
I have only time for an short answer atm so apologies if its a bit fast written.. brief: the sampling theorem says that a bandlimited analog signal that has been sampled can be perfectly reconstructed if the sampling rate is more than 2x higher than the highest frequency in the original analog sign...

Re: Sample Rate
no and that is the point, it's a wrong image of digital audio. a 192khz sampled 10 khz sinus is the same sampled with 44,1 khz. absolutely no increase in derails. the sample points are NOT the signal. it gets reconstructed with this points. your idea about digital audio is definitely not dumb or an...

Re: Sample Rate
Guys, if he wants to record at a higher sample rate, for whatever reason, then allow him to do so and get off his back, geez. He asked a simple question about his audio interface. It sounds like he is less concerned with the nyquist audible range issue than he is with capturing a very high r...

Re: Sample Rate
I'm not placing importance on the maximum frequency on which you can sample, I'm placing importance upon the accuracy of the reconstruction of lower frequency signals. With a sampling frequency of 192kHz you sample your sound every 520.83 nanoseconds, as opposed once every 2.26757 microseconds with ...

Re: Sample Rate
I'm well versed with the Nyquist sampling theory(the people above seem to think sample frequency samples frequencies specifically in the range specified by the device and not at the specified rate, at least thats what I took from their response), and I know my explanation is awkward but its easier t...

Re: Sample Rate
I guess the questions you have to ask yourself if you want to insist at recording at 192k are... how much disk space do you have? how high can human hearing go? what are you going to bounce it out at? i'm sure there could be a bunch of psycho-acoustic stuff that can take place up there in the nethe...

Re: Sample Rate
Actually, it provides a more accurate representation of the original signal, and while it may be overkill it does enhance the quality of higher frequency notes such as C5. As a simple example if you have a Sine wave with a frequency of 400Hz and a sample rate of 800Hz(the minimum sampling frequency ...

Hey, I have the E-MU Tracker Pre external sound card and when I first connected the device to my computer ableton had the devices highest sample rate available (192kHz) and it is no longer accessible. Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

Found it, it's only labeled time but it's next to the Key parameter.

Re: Where is Operators Time<Key parameter
I have it highlighted, but the only thing I see related to Key is the Pan<Key parameter.
