Re: 80s Synthpop / Outrun Music

There's also this: http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-timemachine/ for getting the gritty 80/90's sampler vibe. it used to be offered for free, but not it comes as part of a 25eur bundle, so you might think of picking that up, otherwise the free demo disables saving settings, but, it *ahem* has 8 contr...

Re: 80s Synthpop / Outrun Music

There is a whole section within this months Computer Music about 80's 8-bit production including interviews with the very artists that used to produce for that era. Defo worth a read if you're looking into this ;) http://www.musicradar.com/computermusic/computer-music-special-200th-issue-200-techni...

80s Synthpop / Outrun Music

Hey all, Ive been listening lately to alot of 80s synthpop music and this new genre called "outrun" and i was wondering if anyone had any insight on where/which VSTs are used in this music? This is what i have found so far: Drums - Alesis SR-16 or Linn Drum Synths - Yamaha DX7, Prophet 5, Roland Jup...

Re: more powwwwwwwer!

I have massive and kontakt. Kontakt is good for big band sounds but not really for grime... Or if it is I haven't used it that way yet

Re: more powwwwwwwer!

Ableton's stock sound/preset sounds all unexiting and dull for my taste. You could chain bunch of effects to make it exiting, but it is more easy and gives depth of modulation if you could make pleasing sound from the generator level. I think 3rd party synths always provide such user experience, fa...

Re: more powwwwwwwer!

Sausage Fattener is pretty dope. One everything from leads to drums. EQ the piss out of it. YouTube widening sound with Ableton. There's this trick I've read about but have yet to put into practice. Cliff Notes version is same synth and notes, two different tracks. Utility on each. Settings opposit...

Re: ALBUM vs. INDIVIDUAL TRACKS

Personally I prefer to release 3-4 track EP's. Whenever I've tried to compile an album worth of music it just ends up sound like 12 tracks thrown together on a disc, and personally I like albums that play like.. well.. an album. If it doesn't have the coherence and flow that a traditional album doe...

Re: ALBUM vs. INDIVIDUAL TRACKS

Personally, I think the climate we live in musically, dictates the current shift. Since there are twice as many artist releasing music (more than ever) it forces artist to realease single, just to stay relevant. This is especially prevalent in Hip Hop. Ive been working on a Hip Hop Project for the ...

Re: ALBUM vs. INDIVIDUAL TRACKS

ALBUM vs. INDIVIDUAL TRACKS

Hey all, Id like to get some feedback from some successful artists, or individuals who have some firsthand experience with this concept. It seems like now with the proliferation of digital music software, everyone is putting out tracks. when you are trying to make a career out of this, you gotta be ...

Re: Short Audio Interface Discussion

Thanks for the responses guys. I will take a look at those links --- and yes I would only need a small number of inputs. And I currently have a mike running to a Scarlett 2i2 or something like that ---> not by my setup ATM for the exact mic

Thank you!

Short Audio Interface Discussion

Hello again, I have been producing inbox now for about a year and its time i upgraded my IO device. Currently I am running a pair of monitors with RCA cables to a Numark DJ IO device, that then connects via USB to my computer so i can get sound out of the monitors. The device is below entry level --...
