Re: Behringer FCB1010 limited usage
Congrats! I've been programming mine directly, too. I finished setting up all the buttons to send MIDI note data. Now I need to go back through and do the setup for both the expression pedals. Quite an arduous process, but I'll be happy when it's all up and running.

Re: Moving Forward - Answers and Users' Help Exchange
I've gotten a lot of help from UHE over the years. I'd really hate to see it go. Right now, it's still far more robust than Answers. Please consider keeping it around. I don't see the value in ditching it.

Re: Lite to Full install questions
I've never needed to uninstall any previous version of Live in order to install a newer version. You wouldn't want to, as uninstalling would, I think, uninstall your Library, which is separate from the app itself (at least on OS X). One thing I've noticed about upgrading on OS X is that the doc icon...

Re: upgrading
You can do this. Just log into Ableton.com. Then, from the navigation links on the left, choose User Account, then click the Upgrades link. Assuming you've registered your copy of Live 8, you'll see what upgrades you qualify for. In my case, upgrading from Live 8 to Live 8 Studio would cost $259 (do...

Re: Behringer FCB1010 limited usage
And also, what is this MIDI monitor on the mac? is it a part of ableton? Sorry if i'm sounding a bit simple but i'm very new to ableton! MIDI Monitor (http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/) is a great freeware app that you can use to see what sort of data your FCB1010 is sending in real time, which go...

Re: Retro Synth Pack - Corrupt?
I tried downloading it again but no joy with getting it working. DO you just drag the file into the work area of live or is there a fancy way to install it? I have downloaded it 3 times now and with my ISP giving me grief about going over my monthly limit I dont really want to try again if it is a ...

How to manage/catalog samples...
I'm looking for tips on how to manage sounds/samples/instrument racks. Live 8's library doesn't have a method for adding a rating or any metadata to describe sounds, nor any way--that I know of--to create aliases or some other way to group sounds. I'd prefer to leave things in their default location...

Amen to all that. Downloaded the new sounds yesterday and I'm having a blast auditioning them all. Lots of useful stuff here. A great gift!

Re: Pedal to start/stop track
Maybe. Quick skim of the manual indicates those jacks on the back are outs for sending to, say, a channel switching amp, rather than ins for two extra footswitches. I don't know if there's a way to repurpose them or not. Of course, you could use any of the other assignable footswitches on the FCB101...

Re: Another Behringer MIDI Foot Controller FCB1010 Thread...
MIDI notes? I'm new at this so please explain in greater detail. He means a MIDI "Note On" message followed by a "Note Off." The FCB can send different sorts of MIDI commands: Program Change (PC), Continuous Controller (CC), and notes (i.e. "note on" followed by "...

Re: Pedal to start/stop track
My only question would be can I have external pedals connected into the FCB1010? I have instruments dotted around my studio so it would be good to be able to start/stop each track from a pedal next to the instrument. Mine just arrived today. It has two footswitch inputs on the back. I have a pair o...

Re: FCB1010 help
If If you are on a PC, you can use a free tool called Midi Ox to see exactly what midi is coming into your computer, on Apple I don't know. On OS X, the equivalent app is called MIDI Monitor. It's a must-have utility for trouble-shooting MIDI issues. You get it here: http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonit...

Re: Podfarm problem
This one is better asked at the Line 6 forums. Specifically, here: http://line6.com/community/community/support/computer_based/pod_farm_pod_studio_toneport?view=all Does your license allow using POD Farm both as stand-alone and as a plugin? In my case (TonePort UX2), it took a $50 upgrade to POD Far...

Re: Upgrade or not?
Should I take advantage of the deal they offer now? Or wait until the next version is out [deals tend to precede newer versions]? Or just stick with version six? I was on Live 6 and finally jumped to Live 8. For me, the major reason was Looper. I have a hardware looper that I like to compose with b...
