Controlling Midi CC Levels
I'm using a volume foot controller with my orchestral instruments to control the velocity cross fades within Vienna Instruments. I need to make the midi output of the foot controller midi CC a little less responsive and slower to help with smoother dynamic playing. I have two foot controllers to exp...

Re: More Insight To Live Link Needed
Another way to do it would be to record the output of computer 1 to computer 2 Yea, that's what I was thinking about doing, only thing is if I record only the audio output then I can't make note adjustments using midi at mixdown.... will have to think about the flow ...... thanks for the input.. More Insight To Live Link Needed
Wow! Cheers to Ableton team for the new Link coming out! Excited to try out the link. Got a question about a scenario. When two laptops are linked running Live 9.5 which laptop is the master or is there any that are the master since anyone can control the tempo? I'm wondering if I can use this in su...

Re: Arrgghh Ableton Problems On Mac OS 10.10.3 - Is It Ableton?
Just tried to see if I could reproduce this happening in Reaper and I could not... I've tried various things within Ableton from choosing to open it in lo-res mode and back to the hi-res mode...both graphic modes have had the problem... I even have tried keeping UR824 and the KARMA software closed.....

Arrgghh Ableton Problems On Mac OS 10.10.3 - Is It Ableton?
I don't think this is an Ableton issue, but more probably a Mac? Hopefully someone has a solution for this. My setup is Steinberg UR824 running Ableton Live 9.1.8 on Macbook Pro 10.10.3 ... here is what is happening. I use the KARMA software to drive the Korg M50 keyboard and I also have open while ...

Option For Popup Window with midi/audio inserts
I have about 70 tracks in Ableton with VST instruments loaded up, and I have one track that feeds the midi to them all with input from my keyboard. I use the midi transpose insert function a lot and I thought it would be a neat idea to have the ability to have the midi insert plugin to stay open in ...

Hide Midi/Audio Tracks With No Data For Mixdown
Don't know if this has been suggested before, but our live set includes about 80 tracks of midi instruments. We don't always use the sounds and at mixdown stage that leaves a great amount of unnecessary tracks that I have to scroll through to find those tracks that do have any recorded data or clips...

Ability To Disable Recording Clips for Audio Tracks
Really enjoying Ableton Live 9, I think I have a good feature suggestion that would be very useable. I'll explain my situation... I have been using the built in Ableton looper as a return track to record any audio output from my keyboards, synths and VSTi midi tracks. That's great to make a simple l...

Disable recording of audio clips in scenes?
I currently using the looper as a return track to record audio from sends of VSTi tracks and any audio tracks of keyboards I'm recording to make loops on the fly, but this setup does not leave me the ability to create scenes and go back to them. I tried a setup in preferences with "start record...

Re: Ableton Live 10
VST3 compatibility and the option for others to create their own themes like Reaper DAW. Ableton is very powerful, but I simply wish it had better visual eye features that were not so "flat".
Keep up the great work Ableton! Appreciate the hard efforts at coding the software.

Re: New To Mac ... Use Core Audio or Bit Accurate Audio?
I just didn't know if there was a "big" reason why Tascam suggested it, I will try both and see how it works. Thanks for the answers and sorry for the subject not being clear enough... hey I'm a newbie to Mac but really enjoying it's OS

Re: New To Mac ... Use Core or Bit Audio?
Here is the link to the PDF for OS X 10.9 by Tascam and you will see their suggestion of using Bit Accurate for audio instead of Core Audio. Now I have been using Core Audio, but I was wondering is there really a performance gain here? excerpt taken from the PDF -- "The Bit Accurate driver allo...

New To Mac ... Use Core or Bit Audio?
Ok. New to Mac. Have a new Macbook Pro running OS X 10.10.1 ... What is the difference between Bit and Core Audio? The PDF file of the Tascam US-1800 recommends using Bit Audio when available because it provides the best stability and playback in a DAW. However, I believe I've seen in an Ableton vid...
