you can also use the program "say" on the commandline and use the option "-o filename.aiff" to create an aiff file.

Just open a terminal and type "man say" to show the other options.

Hi cram33, I've bought the USB 828 and never had any problems with it under Mac OS. The latency is very low, but I've heard that latency is higher on Windows. I had never dropouts using 8 channels for the outputs of my SuperNova II and 1 channel for a microphone, sharing the USB-Port with the Axiom ...

I've been using Rebirth on Parallels quite a while for creating background loops and exporting them as wav files. I had no succes integrating rebirth in this kind of setup, since parallels is missing a Audio/Midi Bridge. Had anybody experience with midi over tcp/ip in parallels? What latency will oc...

I usually start warping by setting 1.1.1 to the beat at 9.1.1 before start warping the clip by first trying auto-warp. It seems that autowarp works better with this than start at beginning. After that I set 1.1.1 to the warper at -8 and double click on the warp-marker at 9. If you encounter a small ...

Do you have Operator or Automat installed? Just start with two parallel oscillators: the first should produce a sawtooth, the second with a slightly detuned square-wave. The envelope should be a very short attack, short decay, medium sustain and short release. Apply a LP-filter to them and add a pin...

together with the IAC-Driver you can sync both instances of live: - In the master instance of live select an IAC-output port as "sync" - In the slave instance select the corresponding IAC-Input port as sync and toggle the "EXT" Button. If you don't have IAC Ports yet: Open the Au...

Press <Cmd>-B (or the small stylus icon next to the global-quantization box in the top menu) to toggle between the two different drawing-styles. Double-Click on the automation line to insert new fix-points.

Hi,
the 808 and 909 Samples were part of Chad Carrier book "Ableton Live 5 Power". But you should replace them with the drum sounds of your favour in any case. It's just a template for organizing multiple drums. But I'll upload a new preset containing only samples of the standard library.

The search is really fast if you unselect "Automatic rescan on each search" in the "File Folder" preferences. A search on common terms like "filter" takes below one second on my MBP. The only drawback is to manually select rescan if files were moved/changed or added out...
