Re: Sylenth not working Live 9.0.1
If Sylenth is only 32 bit and you're using a 64 bit version of Live 9, it won't work. I've read about something called jbridge which can fix some vst's to be 64 bit, I haven't tried it yet though.

Re: changing effects chains with midi commands?
Unless you have a way to control how quickly it scrolls, then it might be tough. I've used knobs to scroll, and that's worked fine. I'd suggest using something with buttons to make it easier. The nanoKontrol is a great cheap controller that works well.

Re: rewire ProTools slave to Live master
yes, with Soundflower. Have sound going from Pro Tools into Soundflower, and then have the input on Ableton from Soundflower.

Re: Help with stems for a live show/set!
If you warp them, then you don't necessarily get unwanted artifacts. Try different warp modes. I use beats if it's for short clips and complex pro for full tracks. I would simply use session/clip view and plug the bpm in the scene like mentioned above. If there is no bpm, why would you want a click ...

Re: MIDI Controller and opening files
Trying to figure out a way to do this - here's the concept: Since Ableton doesn't allow multiple songs to be open at once, my workaround is compiling needed songs into 1 large arrangement (using Ableton's arrangement view). I have locators at each turn in each of the songs within the arrangement, a...

Re: how can i record complete set?
just stop the clips and not the recording? cue out the metronome in headphones so you're not off tempo when you need the backing tracks there again. yeah i know what you mean but i like to hit stop and hit play a few times quickly to use the start of the loop as a beat if you know what i mean You c...

Re: migrating to a different computer
Actually, yeah, that should work fine. As long as you didn't do anything custom when installing originally, put the folders used by Ableton in place on the new machine and then install Ableton.

Re: Will my computer benefit from running Ableton 64 bit?
If you just bought one, was it new or 2nd hand? I'm pretty sure the new machines are 64 bit - my 2011 MBP is. I'm psyched for the upgrade of Ableton!

I've heard maschine is the best, never tried one though. I have pads on my axiom 49, mpk mini, and padkontrol, and the padkontrol wins hands down.

Re: using live as a drummer!
There's a lot of them on the market, I use a fast track pro because it was cheap. If I get a new one, it will have many more ins/outs to allow for more live musicians. It really depends on how much you want to spend, look on musicians friends or guitar center's sites for ones in the price range you ...

Re: My first project in realtime. Any advice?
I don't know what you mean by "on the scene" exactly, but I'm assuming you mean taking it out while performing at a show. I have the same interface, and I've never had a problem. That said, I have had Live become unstable on me, which caused me to restart my laptop mid set. That sucked, so...
