I bought this software but im unable to use it as a plug in, ableton cant find it, any tips.

How do I set up a generic midi device. Basically im looking to set up my alesis dm5 kit to trigger in ableton but I cant seem to set up the midi. in the set up I can find a control surface listed for the midi to usb im using. any advice. cheers
