Re: Switching synth patches quickly using MPK25
Get familiar with instrument racks.
When you drop an instrument rack on a track you will see three show/hide view options directly under the power button. The second one of these is the chain list. Once enabled, a box appears to the right of the macro controls that says "drop midi effects audio ...

Automap would be perfect for what you're trying to do, why not use it? It came with your LP it's not like you have to pay for the pro version to get all the functionality..peeddrroo wrote:i'd rather have a red rectangle than install automap on my system!!!!
I'm not trying to hate, just merely curious.

Re: Can this be done in Live?
If you're using ableton's midi plug-in's, then yes. Just create a new midi track and route (using the drop down menus) the midi from the original track to the new midi track and record arm the track. Press record.

I don't even zoom in that far. 1/8 is generally good enough for me.
Ableton is pretty good at warping, once it knows where the start of your song is

Re: link up a vestax vcm 600 to a normal dj mixer
I'm pretty sure that the vcm is MIDI only, so it would just be USB to your computer.
You wouldn't need a DJ mixer at all if you're trying to just DJ with ableton and the vcm, as it would be controlling Live's internal mixer. So the only audio cable's you'll need are the ones coming from your audio ...

Re: APC40 <or> Launchpad + mixer ?
I'm rockin a Launchpad, Nocturn, and an apc20.
I"m pretty happy with my setup, although another set of 8 knobs would be handy. But Automap comes in FTW and makes the nocturn extraordinarily useful and easy to manage with multiple templates with multiple pages.
Chyea.

Re: a problem with launchpad & apc20 combo
What says your midi preferences window?
if you use an APC20, you might want to deactivate the "remote" option for the launchpad.
I actually do this the other way around. You still have full apc20 control with the remote, tracking, and sync options off (or at least I do). And with the remote and ...

Re: Slide to Midi - Sampling
I believe it has to do with the slicing preset.
I remember watching a video explaining how to make a slicing preset similar to what I think you're talking about. It's like a mono instrument right? As you you can only trigger one slice at a time and the next slice cuts off the one before it.

Re: oxygen sustain pedal for multiple loopers
My impression is, with the user remote scripts, you're stuck with what they gave you.
You could put your looper in a rack, and map the CC's (or notes or whatever) from your foot switch to the 'device encoders' in the script. That should get you what you want (if I'm following you, that is).
