Using Ableton to record mixes
Hey, Is it possible to use Ableton to record mixes done on mixers such as the Pioneer CDJ-350 and DJM-250? That's currently the mixer I have and the USB-connectivity goes of course through the CDJs. I would normally use Traktor 2.0 as that is a DJ software program, but you have go through a lot to m...

How does one remove vocals from a track?
Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to remove a certain vocal parts of a track in Ableton? I have this track I want to start my mix with, but I need to cut out the vocals that start in the beginning while still maintaining the original beat and everything. Is this possible?
Thank you,
Scyence

Recording MIDI Tracks, not working
Hey, I have three MIDI-clips that I want to play simultaneously and record it. Problem that I'm having is that I arm MIDI Track 1 and hit play and record and all track MIDI files play, but the recorded outcome is nothing but silence. I've tried tampering with solo and non-solo for MIDI-Track 1 and a...

Aite everyone, thanks again for all the info. Means a lot. Thanks to all the haters as well; it's makes me keep going. Honestly, I have learned a lot about the kbps in this entire rage thread and I appreciate it; regardless of your opinions of me and my question.

Re: Purpose of 320kbps for analog DJing?
Guys, jesus, I'm just trying to get some information here. Really no need to shit on me for asking some questions in a field that I am new in. I understand that many (if not all of you) are incredibly experienced DJs and technicians, and I, a mere peon, but cut me some slack. Just trying to get use ...

Re: Purpose of 320kbps for analog DJing?
With the massive amount of disk space and internet bandwidth available these days, there is really no need for compressed audio formats any more - except maybe for streaming to mobile devices for a little while yet. But if you have a really great track and the only version you have of it is a 128K ...

Re: Purpose of 320kbps for analog DJing?
/facepalm fuck me. another DJ asking if that sound he's pumping out into the dancefloor sounds like crap or not? you're getting paid by the club and fellow club goers are relying on YOU to have a good time. play a low bit rate song at a gig and go out onto the floor and listen. you have all ...

Purpose of 320kbps for analog DJing?
Hey, I've been told that when DJing using a CDJ controller or analog mixer with either CDs or USB ports to play off tracks and mix, then the kbps of all tracks used must be 320kbps. Is this true? If so, why? I have a lot of tracks that are mp3s and are not 320kbps. Should I get them all converted? I...

Thanks to you both. The warping was a problem in all of this. Everything sounds as it should. Thank you again.

Re: Sound Clips change tempo in different Live Sets, why?
Where is this Double Speed function and how do I turn it off (if indeed I did turn it on). Also I took these sound clips and placed them in other previous Live Sets and they run smooth and perfect just the way they were recorded. But in this current Live Set, they are experiencing this sped-up frequ...

Sound Clips change tempo in different Live Sets, why?
Hey, I did some voice recordings in a Live Set, edited it all and such, and now want to use a select number of those sound clips in another Live Set. This is the third project I've done in which I have done such a method and just now, I have encountered a peculiar problem. All selected sound clips I...

Very odd issue concerning mp3 file being played via Ableton
Hey, I added a track to a mix of mine, Wonder by Major League. The mp3 plays fine, with clear and crisp quality, but for some reason when I then drag the mp3 file from iTunes for example or even find it in my Library, the mp3 sounds extremely muffled. When I have the mp3 file in the Session mode, it...

Re: How can I make my mix transitions be smoother?
Thanks Andydes, I did just that for my mix. I know the tracks, I've definitely been creative with how I transition them, and overall I've made a nice mix of trance, progressive, and uplifting.
