Remixing in Live
Anyone have updated info on best places to grab stems/remix packs of current music? It seems like most of the sites you have to pay a fee to join and that's scary if you don't know what you're getting. Where do you go if you don't want to rely on Remix contests? I'm just looking for songs to practic...

Re: How I manage many live sets on stage
I have done everything exactly how you did it. The macro "Song" is controlling the chain selector. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o124/chrishorn77/macromapping.jpg?t=1374710272 The dummy Midi clip is set to trigger chain "0" using CC1 (modulation): http://i119.photobucket.com...

Re: How I manage many live sets on stage
OK- I have successfully mapped the Parent Instrument Rack Macros to control the chain selector and thus all the baby racks. I followed your steps to use the IAC loopback function and ran into a problem in that step. How do you map the Parent Rack Macro to channel 16 and CC1? I just can't figure out ...

I just had a breakthrough. I'm half way there.

Re: How I manage many live sets on stage
I understand what a macro is. I will go through the steps again and see if I can be more specific. I know i was rather vague...I'm having a hard time articulating where I am getting hung up in this process. As far as what you see in my set-up-will your solution work for me based on how I have things...

Re: How I manage many live sets on stage
Hey there-I moved over here from our original thread. That's a pretty genius solution. I feel like there is a way to get this process to work for my set up as it's similar to yours. I have only 2 tracks that host my Parent Instrument Rack with all it's little baby instrument racks. I use a dummy mid...

Re: Optimizing device racks for CPU
Oh ok! Awesome! This is exactly what I need. I will check back for the post. I'm trying to figure out the map pings but no luck thus far.

Re: Optimizing device racks for CPU
Another thing I just noticed-disabling parent racks on helps by 2-3%. I'm not sure the CPU meter is accurate. I do have a single rack that plays back at 60% and no matter what I do it always spikes at random times. Some instruments just need more processing power. I'm installing a 6g SSD this week. ...

Re: Optimizing device racks for CPU
I'm racking ( ha ha) my brain trying to figure out what you mean by song "index."
Your solution sounds perfect however I can't quite figure out how to do it. Might you be able to provide a step by step?
Clyphx is really cool if you have not checked it out yet.

Re: Optimizing device racks for CPU
This is the exact same issue I am researching! I'm not completely convinced that leaving all of my devices activated at all times is good for the CPU. I'm using ClyphX to toggle devices on and off-however, it won't allow me to toggle racks within racks and my set is full of those!

Re: Scrolling in the MIDI Clip window
Ha...this is funny. I beat my head in over this one...and then discovered that my mouse is faulty! It's "scrolling" in every application outside of Live! The follow function is easily turned on and off with cmd F but this was different. SO ANNOYING... just goes to remind you to check the v...

Scrolling in the MIDI Clip window
I've read the manual, Ableton Live 8 Power!, and Producing Music with Ableton Live and cannot find the answer!
My Midi clip window is on permanent scroll and I can't make it stop. I'm sure this is simple.
I feel like an idiot.
