Hi there. I don't know if the same applies to Vista, but I had the same issue in XP, where it was fixed by turning the hardware acceleration of the graphics card down one notch. (Display properties->Settings->Advanced->Troubleshooting)

Huh! I did something I thought I already tried and the problem seems to have been extremely reduced. In the Windows device manager, doubleclick the Midex 8, go to settings (I think the tab was called), where you'll find 8 checkboxes for "MME Compatibility". Uncheck them, the system reboots...

I also had a crackling problem when turning the knobs, but I can't remember if they were recorded on the track...
Anyway, I solved it by turning the AGP bus speed in the BIOS from 8x to 4x... go figure.

Oh yes. Terrible jitter but much better with the RME Midi. Really too bad as we finally were about to connect a lot of synths to Live! as external instruments, but that function was totally unusable. Haven't had any trouble with the midex in other situations. http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

MIDI jitter with Midex 8, suggestions?

Hello, We were starting to hook up the hardware synths as External Instruments in Live 7.0.10, when we discovered that we had really bad MIDI jitter. This was using the Steinberg Midex 8 USB interface. When we switched to the internal MIDI of the RME Multiface, the jitter was much, much lower, but o...

solved

So, I got a nVidia card instead - problem persisted albeit to a much lesser degree. No fun at all. However, I finally got rid of the crackles by changing the bios setting "Plug and play O/S installed" to NO. Apparently windows xp did a botch job of allocating the resources for the sound an...

ATI + RME + Live = Problem?

Hello, I have the weirdest problem. I recently upgraded the old Matrox G400 in the studio computer to an ATI Radeon 9800pro so I could get DVI to a new flat panel. Everything seemed to work just fine... until the next day (read, after power was turned off). Now, Live snaps, crackles and pops like cr...

Multiple display support

Hello, tried searching for this feature, but it seems to general a phrase to get a narrow search result...
Does Live6 have support for multiple display spanning? If not, please make it a priority for a 6.x version.
We really need to see more tracks at once.
Thanks!
