Re: rough "warehouse techno" sound
http://soundcloud.com/samirh/2-containers/s-QF9j9 this is my first real attempt at the kind of techno i want to achieve. it just doesnt have a very big sound. and sounds quite "nice" for want of a better word. (to my ears at least) i'm wondering how to make it sound rougher around the edges.

Re: Ableton does not recognize my MIDI-Keyboard
i thought i had this problem with my akai mpk mini but it was solved quite easily by having it plugged in before i switched on my laptop. still have to do some more midi mapping for the faders but the keys work fine. might work for yours?

Re: 808 Stutter Snare
easiest way, without any effects etc is just to programme in a roll on the drum midi track, then use an envelope on the "transpose" bit and go down a couple of semitones gradually and do the same for velocity.

Re: spectrum shows below 0db, but master level shows clipping
yup yup yup thanks guys. the synths, top end of the bass etc were around the same frequencies as the unimportant part of the claps so were adding up, but only every so often when they all came together (working with a mixture of 3,4,6 bar loops.)

spectrum shows below 0db, but master level shows clipping
Hi, completely self-taught in terms of production so struggling to work this out: after ive finished arranging my tracks, I use the spectrum on the master track to look at the frequencies to avoid clipping. However, even when the frequencies are below 0db I often notice clipping on the master track....
