That works, thanks! Would be more intuitive if it could be done the other way, but better than using something external.

Let's say I have an instrument track A and another midi track B. I created a bunch of clips on B that automate CC and I send "MIDI To" to track A. How do I link the incoming CC on track A to some knob?

Basically I want automation clips to be separate from the instrument midi clips.

Sorry, I do not understand this one. If you do not want to use a control offered by STC, simply delete the line in settings.py or better place a # at the beginning of the line.
