Proper Live Library Format

Been away from Live a while. Just installed 8.1.3. Is there a document or something that describes what the Live Library structure should look like? Is there a preferred place one should put their own clips, etc? Where are the Live 8 demo songs? I don't see any installed and I don't see anywhere to ...

Yes, Mike, but that changes the scale for the entire clip, not just from the current point on, so that wouldn't work for me. I need to mark a switch to and from a signature different than the main one the piece is in. I just checked the manual and I don't see any reference to this, which doesn't mak...

Time Signatures and Warping

Sorry if this is something everyone already knows. I was just warping a piece (by hand, since Live insisted on doing so at twice the correct tempo) and needed to switch time signatures, but couldn't find any way to make that change in the warp markers. I added the changes in the main window (in arra...

Actually, it's been a little over a year since Live 6 was announced: http://www.ableton.com/pages/press/releases/2006_07_14a Live 6 wasn't released until 9/29/2006, but they announced it in July. If they are planning on announcing a new version of Live, I can't wait to see what the new features wil...

They could be going just to promote their newest version of Live which is actually Live 6 Lite. http://www.ableton.com/live-le I can't see them releasing a new version of Live when they just released Live 6 Lite. If that were the case, wouldn't it seem more logical to wait until the release of Live...

I think I remember this, or something very similar, shortly after 6.0 came out and people were having trouble with library conversions they didn't know would be occurring. I just don't get why subsequent versions maintain the confusing construct.

Thanks for sending this.

Thanks, but that didn't change anything. Anyone from Ableton able to address this at all? I'm trying to get a fresh, stable install (can't get much fresher than a machine installed from scratch) that I can build on going forward and this current setup doesn't seem to be it. Some of these directories...

Live 6.0.7 Library Structure

Hi all. You may well have covered this already, but let me quickly ask: I just installed v6.0.7 completely fresh on a new machine I'm setting up; never had Live on it before. I copied the resulting library folder to my particular default location then I installed the Demo Songs pack, but it looks li...

Hey, I just wanted to chime in that I am a fan of your father's music as well. I came to know of him through Cloud About Mercury (as I bought anything that Bruford was on back in the day) and have seen Bruford/Levin Extremities a couple of times in NY. After going to the Myspace page, I pre-ordered ...

Yeah, but surely other people have run into this problem haven't they? I don't remember reading that the EIC was a requirement in the magazine, and I would have thought they would have included a self-contained tutorial set for the purposes of following along. Anyway, if the EIC is needed then ok, ...

As I've stated on other posts, I would get Sampler if it came with an instrument library. Yeah, I think Sampler is probably overpriced to be new, have no content and to only be usable in Live, so I just got the Kontakt 2 crossgrade; for $50 more than Sampler you get the reigning king-of-the-hill, a...

I saw that advertisement around the 2nd of feb when i picked up my issue of CM at barnes and noble. Unfortunately I didnt see the Ableton special on the B&N rack, and when i asked someone about it, they had no clue. Im considering ordering it, as im not a big magazine person, but I make sure to...

Re: starting from scratch

hi, I'm a technically competent dj, with experience using tts and cdjs and have finally made the leap to digital. A friend and I then got live 5, and sat for a while looking slightly bemused at the interface totally lost. We've looked up tutorials elsewhere, but very little for someone musically co...

I'm not giving up on the MPD yet, but I have to find a way to determine if this unit itself is faulty or not.
