Re: OS X YOSEMITE compatibility with Live 9
I spent 48 hours trying to get Live and OSX 10 to work, but could not get Live's browser to work correctly. Decided to revert back to Mavericks on my macbook air. I had NO backup of my Air - what to do...I thought i was going to have to wipe and completely reinstall. Manually copied over important s...

Re: OS X YOSEMITE compatibility with Live 9
I should have also mentioned that i get crashes EVERY time i do a Save As and try to scroll up and down in the open Finder window.
It's ok if you simply hit OK to then save but scrolling = crash.

Re: OS X YOSEMITE compatibility with Live 9
I've had Live 9.14 running in Yosemite on my Macbook Air, all appeared to be running really well but i cannot get my Places to show any of my sample folders. I've tried deleting the indexing db, reinstalling live, deleting every single file associated with Live, but still nothing, no scanning, nothi...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
You say you have 5 scripts - where do you put those, in 5 different folders? Or do you name them differently and put them all in the same folder as your UserConfiguration file?

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
After much gnashing of teeth i decided to just give in to the fact that i'm not going to be able to use my faders to control the synths (outside of midi learn). They seem hardwired to control live's mixer or nothing at all. I just don't get that. I can see perfectly well that they are outputting nor...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
Why would i need two sets of scripts for the controller? First time i've heard this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
64 pots per vst? I thought the Akai's didn't have auto sensing of stuff like that. The nano is only €44. It's an amazing little device to be honest. I bought another piece of software for it that turns it into a pretty crazy little Live controller. http://www.nativekontrol.com/nLII-Plus.html I just ...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
I'll gladly give €30 to anyone who can work this out. It's my experience that controllers are never ever straight forward. I've owned many over the years and somehow they never seem to let you get to the nuts and bolts fully. Like i said, midi learn is fine, but it quickly eats all your available co...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get the faders to works as well as the 8 pots (which work fine) on my nanoKontrol2. Is there a way to do this so that the 8 faders follow on from where the 8 pots finish? It seems criminal that i can't use al these extra controls. I'm not interested in control...

nanoKontrol2 faders - can't modify
Hi. I've been trying for several days now to modify an ableton live User Configuration file so that my Korg nanoKontrol2 will automatically control 3rd party vst parameters. This procedure is described here https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=164575 I can get this to work for the 8 rot...

End loop marker bug?
I've just been exporting audio in Live 8.2.8 and i've noticed something odd about my end loop point marker which is set to 238.3 and what the actual loop controller is displaying, 237.2 Has anyone else noticed this happening? http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/4856/screenshot20120210at112.png Uploaded...

Crackles, Live 8 vs Live 7, OSX Lion
I've just recently upgraded to Live 8 and the first project i've started is bugging me out with constant crackles. I've read briefly in the forums about crackles, and general problems people seem to be having with Live 8/OSX Lion so i just wanted to chip in with my experiences. I thought at first it...

Advice -Composing using Live over the internet
I've been searching the web for information about this and midi over the web in general but what i found all seems a bit old and inconclusive. Does any one have any modern day experience with this scenario? I want to start writing with an old friend again but we are now in different countries (UK/Fr...

I have fond memories of specdrum - of writing my first ever songs with a mate of mine - that first summer after leaving school.... we'd use two sony top loading tape decks, sound on sound over dubbing, specdrum, juno 106, moog, guitar, bass, vocals... priceless. A year or two after specdrum i got th...
