did you ever resolve this issue? Funny your on a Mac and I'm in Windows 7 and the same thing is happening. It's a brand new computer and I have to close Ableton to get my mouse cursor back. This is scary situation playing live.

how do you disable hyperthreading in windows 7 64 bit when it's not even an option in my BIOS on the advanced tab? I know it's enabled because my quadcore is showing 8 processors, and does anyone know for sure if this will help Ableton run better and have a lower cpu load??

also, my computer is showing 8 processors on a quadcore, so that means hyperthreading is enabled. does anyone know if I disable hyperthreading will live run better and have less of a load on the cpu?

so yours is twice as fast but mine is 1/3 the cost ;) I checked the windows resource monitor while running the ableton test, and it peaks at %20, it says ableton is using 8% of my cpu and the next highest on the list is System Interupts (deffered procedure calls and interrupt service routines) at %2...
