Cross-Platform SysEx Externals (& unrestricted MIDI in/out)
http://www.theimpersonalstereo.com/max-externals/ These objects are a re-implementation of the standard Max MIDI objects using a cross-platform MIDI library (RtMidi). This means that you can use them in Max For Live devices to access the system MIDI ports in an unrestricted way. And…. you can get Sy...

Could I ask what problems you have with DMaX? I'm currently working on the new version and would appreciate your feedback.

Re: presentation and locking confusion.
You need to set your patcher to open in presentation mode. To do this, launch the Max editor, select View>Patcher Inspector, then find the option 'Open In Presentation' and check the box.

Re: DMaX - DMX Lighting System for M4L
OK, does this happen only with DMaX plugins or with other types of Max For Live devices? Do other devices that use Jitter have similar problems?

No, I mean being able to use an API command to write a value for a parameter into the automation lane at a certain point in the arrangement.

Re: [Help] zl weirdness
Something I didn't realise for ages with Max is the significance of message ordering. The trigger object is the most important thing in the world. Always think about the order in which things are going to happen, and whether each object will have the right information at the point at which it does i...

[Sharing] DMX Control of Live Channels and Clips
http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=212 This is a relatively simple patch designed to allow DMX control of Ableton channel levels and clips. You can link the value of a DMX channel to the value of an Ableton channel fader, and also set a clip to automatically start and stop when the val...

Re: How do I filter out a " from a list containing foats and int
I swear zl is the most useful object in the whole of max. I've spent ages before building abstractions to deal with lists only to find that zl has yet another mode that does exactly the same thing only better.

Re: (noob) question
When you prepend 'set' to the message 65, you turn it into a list. pak can't deal with lists in the input. However in this case adding set to the message is not required. Try removing the prepend object.

Get track number
Something I can't seem to work out how to do in the LOM. How can I find out the number of the track that a max device is running on?
