I was able to work around it by setting my tracks in Ableton to Monitor: In instead of Monitor: Auto. No idea why. E-mailed ableton to get more information.
Since this is clearly not a very common workflow, I figure I'll post an update here in case anyone is searching for a workaround to this ...
