Hey there, I am having similar problems I think ... I have just installed Live 8 on a new Dell Laptop with Windows 7, it was working fine then I installed my usb audio interface (Novation Nio 2/4) and tried to switch live over to ASIO ... no dice the whole program pretty much freezes and no sound ...
