Re: Ableton technical support rocks!

I only have a little experience with Ableton support. It was about 24-48 hours to get a response each time I sent an email.

But yes, I must concur that Native Instruments support is horrendous. Makes me want to never buy from them again.

Re: At this point, why buy boxed over download version?

A couple of you have mentioned that it's included in Suite... but do you know if it's included in the standard version? That's the one I'm looking to get.

Unless I suddenly get a raise this week and can afford suite :)

Re: At this point, why buy boxed over download version?

Well, the boxed version includes the EIC. It appears that Live 9 doesn't, which would make it worth it to fork out a little more now and get the EIC bundled, to keep.

Unless I'm wrong and Live 9 does include the EIC instruments....

At this point, why buy boxed over download version?

Both are going to be updated to the SAME Live 9 program when it rolls out. So is there any point in spending the extra money for the boxed version at this point? Unless the extra sounds that come with the boxed version of Live 8 WON'T also be included in Live 9.

Anyone know?

(by the way, I'm ...

Re: More/Custom key commands please

Yes, that's why ableton needs to implement it themselves, so that it can be context sensitive. Reaper, for example, does just that. It is not a very difficult thing to implement.

Re: MIDI RESET/REFRESH! PLEASE!!!

YES, YES a thousand times yes.

This is supposed to be good software, so why can't it do something so simple as refresh midi inputs.

Plenty of other DAWs do this. Why not Live??

Re: more cool custom shortcuts

Or how bout this one: simply hit "d" for draw mode.

Way smoother than Ctrl + B. (I mean, really?? I've always wondered where they came up with B for the Draw command)

more cool custom shortcuts

While I'm at it (still jazzed about ClyphX) I wanted to mention another amazingly useful program I found recently called Autohotkey. Many of you probably know of it already, but in case some of you don't, it lets you customize keystroke commands for all of Windows, not just live.

i found an ARM SELECTED TRACK key shortcut!

Found this SUPER cool thing called ClyphX that works with Live as a midi remote script. It's FREE and it can do crazy cool stuff for you.

I'm excited because I've wanted an arm selected track keyboard shortcut for a long time now, and also a track solo that is QUANTIZED. This nifty lil guy does ...

Re: Assigning midi shortcut to a track SLOT, not an individual

Get it. It's a fabulous value for what you get.

Yes, it works fine as a controller for live, with the blue hand and everything instantly being controlled.

As for more than 8 tracks I don't know because I only have Live Lite! Waiting for 9 to roll around before I jump into the full version ;)

Liv Kontrol

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a nice little find for the iPad. If you don't want to spend $25 on TouchAble, there's a nice little app called LivKontrol for only $5.

Granted, it pretty much only does scene/clip launching, volume control, record/arm/mute/solo buttons, and global start/stop ...

Re: I hope they never release Live 9

If you don't want Live 9, then don't buy it when it comes out.

Simple as that.

Meanwhile, there are PLENTY of users such as myself who would REALLY like certain well-documented features.....enough that we would shell out money to upgrade. Therefore, it is in ableton's interest as a company to ...
