Re: Reverse Sample for Drum Rack

And then 9.7 came along, and you can still do Simpler --> Sampler, but you can also reverse samples without the need to do that and you have many more ways to trigger, warp and edit a sample within the drum rack. Quite nice.

Re: Tempo Mapping Audio (Song) File

And also... (maybe I should start a new thread for this, but....) Is there a way to adjust the "tempo" of a midi track? So I recorded some midi notes, then needed to change the tempo of the project to fit some points where I edited the song, now the midi track is out of time. I know there's a way to...

Re: Tempo Mapping Audio (Song) File

I'm working in Live 9 and trying to create a "medley" (ughh. I know, right?) for a friend. He's given me 3 backing tracks and wants me to add new elements: Whatever I want really, beats, synths, samples, he just wants me to spice up these fairly "general midi" sounding backing tracks. My issue is th...

Re: Shortcut for directly drag-adjusting Gain of Samples in Arrangment View

I like this one! When you have a lot of audio files on one track and a lot of level automation, sometimes it's quicker to balance levels with the gain inside an audio file, but it means clicking into the audio file's options and changing the value there. A shortcut key + clicking and dragging the ga...

Re: Punch in / punch out - without loop?

So my current keyboard shortcut workaround: Cmd + L - to select (and loop) the highlighted section. [ - turn on punch in ] - turn on punch out. ' - toggle loop on/off. While we're on the topic of keyboard shortcuts, I found these recently and was pleasantly surprised by how useful 3 or 4 of these ar...

Re: Punch in / punch out - without loop?

Nah, pressing "CMD + L" doesn't turn off the loop for me.
Is that an Ableton 10 thing, maybe?

Re: A Pitch Shifter!

Ah! I didn't realise Grain Delay worked like that. That's quite nice. Not perfect, but the granular stepping is also potentially useful for some digital processing.

Punch in / punch out - without loop?

So I love the shortcut for highlighting an area you might want to punch in / punch out of, for recording a new take which is: "CMD + L" This loops any highlighted section in the arrange view, I love this and use it frequently! However... What I would really, love, love, love, love would be the abili...

Re: Live 10 System Requirements ... can't find anywhere.

Yeah, I'm also not happy about having to upgrade OSX, especially considering Apple being exposed as deliberately slowing down older software, along with reading about apps failing to work with the newer OSX. Meh... No thanks. I'm a bit fed up with Apple overall, but I like my current system and it w...

automation being bypassed

Hello! I'm having an issue with Sylenth in Ableton Live. I've midi mapped LFO gain and rate in Sylenth to my Nano Kontrol. When I playback my automation "greys" out (although the automation lane actually turns a brown colour) to indicate that the automation I've recorded is no longer active. I searc...

Re: Live keeps crashes when in midi editor

This happens to me too, running Ableton Live 9 on a 2010 iMac OSX 10.10.5. I have no problems running anything else on my computer and Ableton functions perfectly in every other department. The MIDI editor doesn't crash Ableton and make it close, but it completely locks up. My workaround is to hit: ...

Launchpad lights show drum rack contents?

Hi folks. I've seen many online tutorials showing how to get the Launchpad to light up in User Mode 1, when you either play some pads, or play back a clip with notes in it. It's clearly explained here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HupQay63NF8 However! Is there a way to get the drumrack to light u...

Re: Launchpad Midi Channel

I know this is an old post, but I just bought a LaunchPad recently and I'm keen to create custom layouts. I downloaded Katapult a couple of days ago. It is excellent. It's so simple, you just edit the layout.txt and the commands are straightforward. The documentation is pretty clear and overall, con...

but it would be great to zoom in the virtual keyboard like you can in the MIDI editor or in the timeline respectively. To view 8 octaves you need a wide monitor- what is not necessary if you could zoom. Also scrolling should be like that - not with the scroll bar at the bottom. that would be a stra...

Re: Reverse Sample for Drum Rack

o0timbo0o Yes, this is how I do it: cmd + t for new audio track, change input to resampling, solo the track with your drum hits, hit record, hit your drum hits. Unless your drum hits are in a drum rack / sampler, you'll have to resample them, so you can drop them in and access those sampling features.
