Re: HELP! Preassigned MIDI CCs
Ah, with a bit of searching (okay a lot of searching) found this plugin here: http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ndcmidi.htm Can use it to block CC input from a certain range. Hopefully I can just pop this on to all my tracks so MIDI controls only go straight to globally assigned stuff. Left my cont...

Re: HELP! Preassigned MIDI CCs
Thanks. Hm, I tried that but they still interact directly with plugins...(as well as what I assigned em too). It works if the plugin is not in an armed track, but my setup relies on arming multiple tracks at once. I've decided to take the temporary route of disabling certain CC outputs but I keep on...

HELP! Preassigned MIDI CCs
are driving me mad. I've got a new Quneo and it's great, except it outputs such a massive range of data, and is causing me trouble with certain plugins. Certain plugins that open up with several MIDI CCs already assigned. Like, I get it, I'm cool with pitch bend and mod wheel and sustain pedal being...

Re: sending audio to VST instrument
Yeah, typically dual-input plugins act as audio effects, that can accept MIDI input (with a blank midi track that outputs to said plugin).

Non-global MIDI mapping in Live
So I want to have these two faders on my controller control two parameters for whatever instrument/VST I'm currently playing. So far my method has worked so far: by using the VST's built-in MIDI Map functionality, I can have the faders control ONLY the track that is armed. Egs: I can play a bass pat...

Re: Guys I really need your help with this bassline
I'm pretty close, but it's almost time to leave work.... but I found a saturator set to waveshaper helps with the grit. There's also a slight filter envelope I didn't realize the first time, a typical "ow" sound (high-to-low cutoff) that adds a bit to the punchiness. I'll upload what I hav...

Re: Guys I really need your help with this bassline
Listening to it as I type, sounds pretty straightforward. One of the first things I notice off the bat is that the accompanying kick drum adds a lot of punch to the bass synth, which either has a rather slow attack, or more likely, is being pumped (aka sidechained compressed from the kick). The port...

Re: Using live on stage with acoustic guitar, tips?
A piezo pickup will be fine, no worries of feedback there. However, the vocal mic might be a problem, best to keep the preamp low and mush your mouth up to it (bring your own foam cover for hygiene's sake). I did a similar thing before, running my acoustic and vocals through a zoom H4n as my interfa...

You using a Mac or PC? If PC, are you using some sort of ASIO interface?

Re: Someone with FL Studio give me a hand?
Sorry if this is a little out of place, but the story is I have an old project file that was written in FL Studio, and now I only have a Mac w/Ableton in it, and I'd like to work on it again. So if someone has FL Studio (I think I was using 10 beta) and can convert it into a bunch of Midi files, th...

Re: Quneo or Kontrol F1?
The biggest thing for me is that on my setup I have what I call a "bass map" that I use for drops and heavy stuff. If you've ever seen a Midifighter demo by Mad Zach, it's kinda like what he's got going on, but just bass. And instead of samples, they're similar sounds by generated realtime...

Re: Sustain pedal plugged into push to automate global record.
The issue you're facing is that the 'pedal on/off' midi message is one of the holy please-don't-touch messages, like the pitch bend codes. While most controllers and DAWs can map anything to anything, the pedal controller is usually hardwired into what it sends, and AFAIK ableton won't touch it eith...

Re: Quneo or Kontrol F1?
I have the Quneo as it fits my uses more appropriately than the Kontrol. I wouldn't say it's of a weaker build quality than the Kontrol... but it is definitely a different KIND of build quality. It's so small and thin and light that it's hard to imagine anything happening to it, kind of like how it ...
