The same thing is happening to me!
I've installed the drivers for my Oxygen8 midi keyboard (I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.7). It installed fine and is recognised by Ableton. But when I hit a note on the keyboard, the small yellow box (in the upper right of the Ableton interface) flashes for about 5 seconds ...
