How can I record/route Ableton > Audacity
I'm a little confused, I've downloaded Soundflowerbed, and I've noticed there are certain things that won't record into it for some reason (this isn't about recording things off of youtube or something) such as certain games. Like they use a different device to output the sound or something. Anyway,...

Re: Protecting your hearing
In my book, any prolongated high volume can cause ear loss. As anyone have different treshold, There is no definite answer. If you feel ear fatigue after a session, your overstretching yourself. Lower the volume or live with the consequence. I have loss quite a bit of earing when I was teenager, pl...

Protecting your hearing
I've heard, typically, that prolonged exposure to 100-130+ decibels causes hearing loss. 100 is around concert level, while 60 is around conversation level, I know. But on a laptop, more specifically, a Macbook Pro 15 or 17 (I forget), what are the decibels? All I have when I hit the volume up butto...

Multitake Recording
Hi, can Ableton do something like the multitake recording of Garageband? Where you set a region and loop it and keep recording, and it makes a different track from each "take" (times you repeated the region) and then you can click the track and change it to different takes, it stores them ...

Re: Really simple question.
Awesome, thanks for that awesome tip. Something else I just figured out is that when you've got a certain range selected you can doubleclick the timeline (is that what it's called?) and it will zoom into only that range. Also, when you hold Cmd + Alt, the cursor turns into a hand, and you can drag t...

Re: What controls Sustain?
Thank you very much broc that's just what I was looking for.
Do you think you could give this question an answer?
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=167022
And am I posting these kinds of questions in the right forum? They seem to take a while to answer if they're answered at all.

What controls Sustain?
Hi, so I was messing around with my MIDI keyboard, and my keyboard has a button, "Sustain", which you hold down and it sustains the notes as you play them. If you record with sustained notes, it keeps the sustained quality of the notes. My question is where does it store the fact that the ...

Really simple question.
It drives me crazy when I make a couple of midi notes, and then zoom in to one spot, and try to drag a selection box around a group of midi notes, but then when I reach the end of that part of window, it doesn't allow me to move past the boundary. I have select a portion of it in the part of the win...

Re: Where is my serial?
Live Lite..... So just to be clear, if it's Live Lite, then you can't save/export? I figured it was just Live with less instruments and features. I don't see why I would've had to enter a code if I was unlocking a version that came with less features than the 30-day demo.... Thanks for answering, bu...

Where is my serial?
Hi, maybe I'm confused, but my copy of Ableton 8 came with my Mustang guitar amp, and it came with a serial number, and although I entered the serial number when installing it, it won't let me save / export?
Why?

Re: Note Length problem?
Yes, I think. But it alternates because when F doesn't stop sooner, A does.
I've since sorta fixed it by instead of using Note Length I adjusted the decay and sustain, but I'd still like to know what was wrong.

Note Length problem?
Hi, I'm having a problem with the MIDI effect "Note Length" I'm using it to add a sustain-like effect to a note, and it seems to work perfectly. But not on the 2nd play of the loop. Lets say I have a loop with one F note and after that a ....I dunno...A note? We'll say that. Anyway, on the...

Huh, I guess I found the community troll. Anyway Scu this sounds like a great idea to help people (like me!) learn, and I gotta go now but I'll be sure to check out the lesson and give more feedback when I get back! If you didn't cover it in that lesson, I would also like to request a lesson on the ...
