Ease of use with Ableton.. Sylenth1 vs NI Massive

I'm not trying to spark up the never ending debate on which is better between the two. I'm asking more from a beginners perspective... If you've used both, which did you find was easier to learn/navigate. They seem very similar, so to me, whichever has a "not as hard" learning curve is the...

Re: How in the f@*& does e blent this sound to that??

Doesn't sound to me like there is any "morphing" going on. One sound fades in while the other fades out. As the new sound comes in, it is low pass filtered and this filter gradually opens. Thanks man. You're right, when I paid closer attention it was just timed to sound like that. Cheers!

How in the f@*& does e blent this sound to that??

Hey guys, Not a big trance guy but ever since I heard Sanctuary my Gareth Emery last year there as a particular part of the track that caught my ear and I can't figure out how he did it. I've provided a youtube link below to the song and I'm referring to the part between 2:28 through 2:38 where (it ...

Re: a little help with understanding bass lines anyone?

I almost always use single notes for Bass lines. The important thing to remember with bass lines IMO is to not get too complex or cluttered with them. They are the anchor of the song or track, and unless it's in a spot where the bass is being intentionally featured, less is often more. I stay away ...

a little help with understanding bass lines anyone?

The importance of a solid baseline in house music is essential... this I know. What I don't know is the best way to go about creating one... I obviously know how to create clips and understand ableton.. My question is: Do you guys use chords (ie. major, minor, etc) or just single keys to create your...

How much do you think the "pros" know about their DAW?

When I refer to the "pros" I'm referring to the successful mainstream producer/DJ's (ie. Afrojack, Aoki, Avicii, etc). What I'm basically asking is: How well do you think these mainstream guys know their way around the DAW they use? Example: I'm taking a very in depth online course regardi...

Just installed u-he ACE plugin... and now I can't find it!!

Hey guys, So I took the advice of some of the good members of this board and bought the u-he ACE plugin. I bought it and immediately installed it on my hard drive.... but now here's the problem... Re: Anybody know any good MIDI instrument kits for house music?

To be honest Maschine is probably the closest to a "MIDI instrument kit" out of anything mentioned here. What do you mean by "MIDI packs"? I guess whatI mean is (and place keep in mind I'm still a NEWB to this) that I'm looking for new sounds for my midi keyboard to control. I u...

Can anybody tell me how to get THIS sound??

Hey guys, I've had Alesso's remix of "Good Love" on repeat for days now.. I absolutely love this track.. mainly because of the way he gets his midi notes to sound at certain parts of the song. It sounds like he's either using some sort of basic midi keys with some sort of a filter... or so...

Remixing a track.. where to start?

Hey guys, So I've got a pretty solid grasp on the basics on how to produce music with Ableton... but am totally in the dark when it comes to the concept of remixing a song. I learned how to make music with the session view (per the videos on the Ableton site).. if you've watched these videos, then y...

Can't find "Live Intro Sounds by Loopmasters in Suite 8!

Hey all, Hope you don't mind me bombarding the forum with a few questions as I run through the lessons here on the site! In the "tutorials" part of the site, particularly in part 1 of "building a track", the teacher refers to "live intro sounds by loop masters" (it's ap...
