Re: Ableton 10 is obsolet!

As a Suite 9 owner, and as I own many third party VSTs, I have zero interest in Wavetable or any additional FX. As far as I am concerned they do not add value to the Live 10 update. I am sure that, like myself, people who already own a number of VSTs and FX will have a specific requirement when they...

Re: Roland JDXI analog recording issues?

On the JDXi the analog synth is triggered via MIDI channel 3 and this cannot be changed so you need to set your DAW to output on channel 3.

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

I do find it strange that some people defend Ableton's upgrade pricing for existing Suite owners. The fact remains that the person who will have paid the least amount of money for Live 10 Suite is the person who has never owned Live before. Suite 10 can be purchased for £415 (buy Suite 9 now and get...

Re: 19" Effect Unit

As well as being able to apply FX to two separate pairs of inputs (i.e. equal to having two MX300s) the MX400 also has a mode whereby two full size FX can be used in series. The full size FX gives you 9 - 12 parameters per FX as opposed to the usual 4 parameters per FX, plus this mode has its own se...

Re: 19" Effect Unit

I would recommend the MX400 over the MX300.
It doesn't cost much more but is equivalent to having two MX300s

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

I also think the upgrade price from Suite 9 to 10 is a bit steep.
I paid 124 pounds for the 8 Suite to 9 upgrade, which included a lot more content (e.g. Max for Live).

Re: Low latency 2-6 channel soundcards for live ableton performa

Have previously owned a NI Komplete Audio 6 (currently own an RME) and can thoroughly recommend it as an excellent value for money audio interface with good features, great sound and fairly low latency.

Question for Ipad owners.

I am aware that there are some interesting music apps for the Ipad but would like to know: 1. What is the best way to get midi to/from the Ipad (what connector, do you need drivers)? 2. What is the best way to get audio from the Ipad into your soundcard (is it simply taking the audio from the headph...

Re: Which piece of studio equipment gets on your nerves the most

The RME Matrix/Mixer view... It's so powerful, but so complicated at the same time It's not so much the case of being complex, as opposed to being initially confusing. The thing to remember is that the destination slot shown at the bottom of every input and output channel is not the only possible d...

Re: Which piece of studio equipment gets on your nerves the most

I have read more reports, does the desktop run a asus main board ? There is some issue with the usb detection, like a short break before everything is initialized. I have a self built PC with a Gigabyte motherboard. I don't think the issue is necessarily about drivers, MBs or USB. If I apply power ...

Re: Which piece of studio equipment gets on your nerves the most

What annoys me most, is my audio interface, its an Komplete Audio 6, and allthough it works perfectly when its running, sometimes its not detected after turing on the computer . Reinserting it, gets it to work. It just annoys me that i have to replug it. My next interface will be an RME or an an A&...
