Re: Live 9 Pricing

There are plenty of features in Live 8 I don't use, but that doesn't mean I was going to ask for a special version tailored just for me without the features I don't use. I take your point - but the upgrade price I've been quoted for Suite 9 (EUR 249) is so high compared to the Live 9 standard upgra...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

Can't you just upgrade to suite 9 and not use max.
It's not clear that Max is an optional install with Suite 9. Besides, upgrading to Suite 9 would amount to paying extra for something I am never going to use.

Re: Live 9 Pricing

You can upgrade to Live 9 Standard and retain your current Suite 8 components. How does that work? Does Live 9 not install as a separate application like previous versions? Or would it read the Suite 8 instruments from my plugins folder? Does that mean I would not be able to uninstall Suite 8 after...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

As a Suite 8 owner who does not want Max For Live, the only option I appear to have is not to upgrade at all. Thanks, Ableton. :-(

Re: Tutorials missing Next Page button

Well I got the Next Page button back - choosing Full Screen from the View Menu seemed to restore it, and then it stayed when I went back to the normal view. Not sure why that happened!

Tutorials missing Next Page button

I have a weird problem. I just upgraded to Suite 8 (8.2.7) and wanted to have a look at some tutorials, but every time the help window says "please click on the Next Page button below to continue", I don't see a Next Page button. I have scrolled to the bottom of the window and there appears to be sp...

I remember I once had a loop that played just fine without clicking in Sound Forge but in Live (could have been v4 or even v3, it was a while ago) it clicked when the Fade button was on. When I clicked Fade to 'off', it looped without a click, just like it did in Sound Forge when I edited it! Unfort...

I have to add my voice to the protests about the new method of preset browsing. I only recently downloaded the public beta and I was so disappointed (after I finished being simply disorientated!) by the fact this was changed. I almost reported it as a bug! Ableton should at least give us the option ...

I use 16bit 44.1kHz on everything, my computer is a few years old and low on RAM by current standards so I have never even tried 24bit. 16bit sounds fine to me though. I never was into all this audiophile sh!t, I remember all the debates about CD vs vinyl in the 80s (which mostly tended to ignore th...

I like my Sennheiser HD495's. They come in for criticism all over the web for being bass heavy, but if I mix on phones that don't have enough bass I keep adding 'just a little more bass' until there's waaay too much. These keep my mixing in check plus they sound very detailed in the mid/high range. ...

I think a lot of piracy happens because of the restrictive licence agreements many companies place on their products meaning you can't sell them and often can't even return them to the shop if they're faulty - unless it's just the disk that's faulty, that can be replaced, but have you ever attempted...
