Re: Link and Ipad Ready Score Programs
Hey yur2die4 Thank you for the input. It's frustrating cos it seems to me this should be really obvious and simple. From what you've said I think I need: Link to Midi App - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/link-to-midi/id1066216595 and any ipad manuscript app that supports midi input. Thank you for the...

Link and Ipad Ready Score Programs
Hi All, thanks for reading I'm not sure this is actually production. I am integrating live drums and ableton and I know what I need but am not turning up a huge amount with google so I'm hoping for some recommendations here for a program/app for scoring music that fulfills the following: 1 - Be on a...

Re: The Forum needs a new subforum: "Help & Troubleshooting"
What else would you discuss? But as in, in reality, if you look at the numbers of posts that are about something other then "help me with my problem", actually you'd end up with about a post a week, for what you might as well use carrier pigeon or fax. Unless you are saying that the true elite are s...

Re: Best drum interfaces
Hi both, thanks but I didn't explain myself right I'm talking v-drums. An actual kit. I used to play acoustic drums and am buying an electronic kit but my criteria is I have to plug the brain into my computer to use in a daw, e.g. ableton. I'm looking at all kinds of brains but half of them seem to ...

Re: Disable a playing clip (or other) from launching
Bit unclear what you want but sounds impossible. What's wrong with not launching a clip you don't want? Your question sounds a bit like trying to play a c major scale on a piano so asking how you can disable the black keys. The answer would be don't play them, no? I would say you could automate the ...

Re: Clip End kills Kontakt Playback
Do you understand how MIDI notes work? Like how note on and off work? If your "Snare Hit" sends a note off, then it should end the same note on "Snare Pulse" (since Snare Hit is routed into Snare Pulse). Please explain how note on and off work then? Although if you reread my original problem, you m...

Re: Launching clips - arranging live set basics
If you renames the master channel's scenes from 1, 2 etc to "130bpm" or any number with bpm, it'll convert the tracks tempo if triggered via the master. Saves you warping which in my experience is ALWAYS a bitch compared to what you'd like it to be. Might help you. Also, blank clips with follow acti...

Re: Ableton micro-installation problem
Have you checked it works outside of ableton? Assuming yes it does, then have you tried all the possible (totally unofficial but so works sometimes) starting the program with it plugged in, tarting the program with it unplugged then plugging it in, rebooting the computer with it plugged in etc etc? ...

Lag (not latency) in ableton
My friend asked me about a problem I've not come across before. It was file specific, but he had lag on everything, like from fades, to mutes, to anything he did. The mute button would be pressed and a few moments later the track would mute, for instance. Faders move, you'd get an EQ sweep a few mom...

Re: Clip End kills Kontakt Playback
I'll investigate the program changes, but I've never knowingly used them. I suspect it's not Kontakt exactly, as Kontakt is in a separate channel and I can see the meter in this channel going off, which triggers a problem in Kontakt. Whilst yes, inside kontakt I might be able to make a work around, ...

Re: Clip End kills Kontakt Playback
Thank you for getting back to me!
No follow actions. It's a standalone track, the routing is all ins, all channels, monitor off, output to another track but the issue is within the single track.
Program changes? Not entirely sure what you mean here, can you elaborate please?

Re: Clip End kills Kontakt Playback
Okay I'll rephrase:
What possible causes could there be for a single note in a single clip, set to launch by Trigger and repeat turned off, to make the meter peak twice?
Once at launch, fine.
Can anyone suggest a possible reason for it to pick up a signal a second time after launch?

Re: How do I transfer a specific note of an instrument rack into a drum rack?
Hi, Open two tracks, one with your synth, we'll call "synth", one with your drum, we'll call "drum". In Synth put a blank FX rack and create two chains in it. For sake of explaining we'll call one "send" and one "direct". Open the Key range chain editor. Make sure direct covers the whole spectrum. D...

Re: Remapping notes for a drum pad controller on the fly
I would go: 4 pads to 4 chains in 1 MIDI FX rack or drum rack. Each chain then stick a Pitch MIDI effect on. Pitch MIDI effect value mapped to whatever controller you've got to pick the note. Easy, no? EG I use the launchpad a lot, so I'd give myself 8 "pitches" per pad with 1 row/column of the LP p...
