Blaknoize says-3 more things to be an Acid-killer, what do you folks think?

Dave Manning what are the complete specs of your Ibook?
I actually have a 500MHz Titanium, with a 48GB drive and 1GB of RAM, running OS X.

Is your powerbook a 500Mhz running OS9.2 by any chance. I think I am going to try switching back to 9.2.
It's a 500MHz model, but I run OS X.

I used Acid to produce about 10 different songs - mostly just demo stuff for my friends and I. I definitely concur w/ the statement that Acid makes tracks sound a little sterile. I found myself frustrated with Acid - I spent way too much time concentrating on the individual loops, getting them right...

I've done some preliminary testing - assigning some of the basic controllers, etc. - but haven't really dived into actually trying to go beyond that. Tascam provides some application-specific support in the "control panel", so I wish there'd be some Live support in the future. I personally...

I have a 500MHz PowerBook G4 w/ OS X. Currently, I'm just using Live on this machine, and am waiting for my chance to get the Reason 2.0 OS X beta.

Luke Vibert = Wagon Christ? I can't remember for sure, but either way, that probably would have been a great show! :-)

Well mp3 encoding isn't really what represents sequencing is it? logic and live benchmarks would be very much more helpful in that regard,,... still, do you think they'll perform better than the previous ones (which were said to be quite awful with regards to audio)? FORMAT I think they will. Seque...

Dennis: Perhaps I misunderstood your original statement: "Smaller companies like Ableton could lead the revolution away from buggy closed source systems by providing a Linux version. " I read this as advocating an open source application on an open source system. I guess I'm not sure what ...

Very interesting, FORMAT. If you feel comfortable using MP3 encoding as a measure of processor performance, the new PowerBook G4 should be significantly faster than the 550/667 versions.

IMHO, of course!

Linux?

Why not? Smaller companies like Ableton could lead the revolution away from buggy closed source systems by providing a Linux version. I'd be MUCH more comfortable using this app in a Linux environment than I am in Win or Mac. Any thoughts? Dennis DeSantis http://www.dennisdesantis.com First off, ku...

Great mix - I especially like the hip-hop elements about halfway through.

What type of venues will you be playing in Germany?

Question about external devices

I've got an old Roland Sound Canvas I'd like to get working with Live. Am I right in assuming that Live is only capable of treating the Sound Canvas like any other instrument - say, Reason via Rewire - in that Live can't really control the Sound Canvas?

Any direction on this is appreciated.
