Re: Latency Push Audio out and external midi Synthesizers.
I am not sure about Push3 as mine is on the way, but on my computer, the best way I know of to record an external synth is the use the "external instrument" device under instruments. This will require a midi out channel and a designated audio input. From here you can record midi. Then crea...

Re: Live 7 and Virus Snow or TI? Do you have midi timing issues?
Well, after some playing around, I have come up with a decent work flow that maintains correct midi timing. Basically, I use the VC vsti as is for part 1, and then a midi track to control the VC track for subsequent tracks. Part 1 seems to just work fine. For the subsequent tracks, I need to add in ...

Live 7 and Virus Snow or TI? Do you have midi timing issues?
I am using the latest version of Live 7 with the latest OS3 Virus VC software on macbook (latest model). I have no problems with the plug in, while I have the tracks armed, I get pretty much zero latency. When I go to record midi in a clip, all the recorded notes are delayed by quite a bit. I have t...

Does Live remember my laptop if I erase my HD and reinstall?
Will it count down my license? Or will Ableton remember that I had Live on this particular machine?

Musician's Curse? Must learn more instruments?
I can't help it... I am not a guitar player...at all... Keys...yeah, but not guitar. But whenever I hear someone playing an awesome piece on the guitar, I want to pick up a guitar and learn to play... But then I realize, I will never be as good as the piece I just saw performed. And then I eventuall...

Macbook built in audio: 61 samples! 3.74 ms latency!!
I am absolutely floored by how well CoreAudio works with even the built in audio on my MacBook. I wish someone would have told me this a long time ago as I battled XP performance issues. I am now in mobile heaven. Especially since I work 80% in the box. I don't need anything but my MacBook and headp...

Doesn't seem like it does. And it doesn't even let me use the port at 400.Lo-Fi Massahkah wrote:Windows has never supported FW800, has it?Vertical wrote:Well, after much experimenting and research, it turns out that Windows has chosen to not fully support FW800. So that port is basically useless in windows.

Anyone using the Mackie Onyx Satellite? What buffer setting?
I am looking into this low cost FW interface. I am wondering how decent the ASIO drivers are. In windows, what is the lowest buffer setting you can run smoothly? I am mainly interested in VSTi performance.

Newest MBP, FW410 works in Mac osx, but not in Windows XP??
I just got a Macbook Pro and found that my FW410 works fine in Live under OSX, but freezes on Live startup in Windows. At first I though maybe it is the whole 'Agere' Firewire chipset issue, but if that were the case, why would it work under OSX? So it must be either a windows issue, bootcamp driver...

Why so many problems installing VSTs on my macbook?
Someone please help!
I am trying to install this:
http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/ffttools/
on to my macbook and have it show up in live. I ran the setup and see the vst in the vst folder, but I can't see it in live. What am I doing wrong?

How to set a knob to add to a CC envelope? Relative adding?
I am drawing in CC messages to my external synth, and so far that is working out well. Problem is, I want to do on top of the drawn in envelope, an additional sweep that would in essence move the entire envelope up or down, using either another envelope or maybe just a knob on my keyboard controller...
