You have to turn "remote" in the INPUT section for the EV-XS USB MIDI - this will allow you to control remotely Live. That's it!

I have the same problem - about 40 ms latency during recording or resampling (Live 6.0.7).
As i can remember there was no such issue in earlier versions of Live untill 6.0.5 or am I mistaken.
