Re: Live 9 mackie control

I was super confused about the Mackie Control issues, for too long. I also decompiled the scripts, found a fix (for one issue), and reported to them the line number and code change, and still waited for a proper fix. Other users did the same. I don't know what the deal was, but it seems to work out ...

Re: Default Clip Color - Auto Assign

This was mentioned on the Live 9 beta forums... I still wish it was something like this:

Re: Bring back vol pan and transposition buttons in Clip View

+1 I wish this little area was configurable, and key-mappable so you can quickly access envelopes. Going into that little menu over and over is tedious. This isn't totally thought through (how to delete, how to save defaults, etc), but it's an idea: https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/85...

Re: Mackie Control Pro LCD gets corrupt during playback

Unfortunately everything seems to be the same. :(

Here's an image to illustrate what is happening (using 9.0.3b3):

Re: Pitch getting "stuck" after clip automation..?

This is probably one of my biggest workflow/mood killers. You'd think that wherever you are in the timeline, if you press play, you would hear exactly what all values at that point in time are specifying. Nope. Clips must pass "through" at least one automation point to sort of wake them up for that ...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

One thing you could do if you do a lot of volume automation is to automate a utility early in the chain instead of automating the mixer channel's level. Since the level is the last thing to get the audio signal for that track, it will get timing problems if you add many plug-ins with latency. Hmm, ...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

My writing partner and I actually run into this issue a lot in our tracks. We sometimes have many orchestral tracks (joy that 64-bit is now supported) with automation for dynamics and timing, and as the project continues and more devices are added to chains, the timing of things starts to feel wrong...

just great.
Are there really track defaults in 9? I haven't seen any info about that, but it's something I've been wanting.

Re: Quick jump to clip's automated envelopes

the quickest way I know is to right click a macro or parameter and select "show modulation" Hmm, I do use that all the time, but I basically need to straight jump to a specific parameter. There's no quick way to go straight to editing the hold/sustain pedal envelope, or expression envelope, because...

Quick jump to clip's automated envelopes

Is there a way to quickly jump (keyboard shortcut?) to specific automation envelopes of a selected clip? For example, I work with modulation (CC1) and hold (CC64) all the time, and it's kind of a nuisance to drill down to the different menus very frequently. Basically I'd like to select a clip, then...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

One more example which frustrates me with almost every project: midi chase. If my track sounds weird, it's almost always because Live is not reading the automation lines exactly where they are at. You have to back up and let Live play through an automation point for it to pick up a change. So bizarr...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

I don't post here much, but I read the threads almost daily, and I think I can echo this sentiment. Live basically works the my brain does - the flow, the structure, the routing, the fx chains organization. I love it. But it is definitely lacking in some areas, such as the PDC issue, and I think we ...

My favorite way to scroll, works almost everywhere you can (browser, track effects, piano roll, arrangement, etc):

PC: Hold CTRL+ALT and drag
Mac: Hold COMMAND+OPTION and drag
