How do you save automation??

Sorry didn't know what to call this! But this is pretty big question for me right now and I think would be massively helpful for a lot of people, and is probably something the pros are already doing, I just don't know how to do it. What I'm doing is resampling a bunch of different versions of the sa...

Re: how to the get sound of 80's VHS ?

Shit... Yeah, it's been so long since I've looked at a VHS player I sort of forgot it could be that easy. That does make sense though, thanks. Getting it back into the digital realm with any degree of fidelity is actually probably going to be the trickiest part.

Re: how to the get sound of 80's VHS ?

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I figured that may be less intrusive and annoying than creating an entirely different post about the exact same topic. I've been thinking about trying to do exactly this, record audio from Ableton onto tape (VHS). Everyone is saying "just record it to V...

Sampler/Midi Issue - Weird sound from nowhere?!

I have this bass sound I made loaded up into Sampler. And I've got the midi clip setup with my notes, all good. But after the first 3 or so notes, the sound of it gets weird. Almost like a "pop" sound in a sense during the transient of the sound. I checked all my automation and there's not...

Re: Massive synth patches are all messed up in Ableton....

I hope that this doesn't bump this thread up, but for anyone else who may come across this page looking for the answer: The easy solution is to simply duplicate the midi track that contains the problem. Delete the original track and use the new one, everything will sound fine. Not sure if that was a...

Re: Massive synth patches are all messed up in Ableton....

Ok so yesterday I spent a lot of time going back in and creating a new channel, adding a new Massive, pulling up the original preset, tweaking it back to how I had it set up, copying and pasting in the effects chain, copying the Midi clip over... AND! It happened again!! I just opened it up to liste...

Massive synth patches are all messed up in Ableton....

I was working on a project. Put a few hours into it. Closed it. Opened it again later, everything was fine. Opened it again just to listen to it and my two Massive synths are totally sounding ridiculous. I can't even say exactly what's wrong with it because its got the same gist as it should but it ...

Re: Still confused - copying multiple lines of automation

It essentially comes down to how to copy the automation. Which I know is a frequently answered question on her.... From my understand the way to do this was to click the drop down tab that shows the automation in their own line and then duplicate the section out in order to copy all of the automatio...

Still confused - copying multiple lines of automation

I feel as though this has been answered here before but I can't find it and this has plagued me for a while. What I've been doing is simply making audio stems of the tracks in question and then copying those out since I can't figure out how to do this easily, but with my reverb and delay settings, t...

Synth Riser to FM type synth question...

This is a technique that I've heard numerous places that I think is pretty cool but I'm not really sure how they do it. I believe it is an FM synthesis technique but with Massive, which is what I usually tend to use, I don't know how to make it happen. I'm sure you guys have heard it somewhere befor...

Re: Nervous to reorganize my sample library...

Yeah that works and makes sense from a "from now on" type perspective. But my concern is about the songs I've already created and losing the location of all the samples I've used on everything thus far...

Nervous to reorganize my sample library...

So lately my sample library has grown considerably and I've been noticing for a long time that where I had originally saved my sample folder was not ideal. I want to reorganize my sub-folders as well a bit. I'm worried that the songs I've created using these samples will be a massive bitch to get wo...

Re: Sample Changing Sound When Dragged Into Audio Track

Thanks, figured it out. For future reference or anyone who might have the same problem and stumble upon this thread: Device/Fades chooser in arrangement view for the track in question. Click "Fades" and it will show you the Fades setting as an automation line. Simply change that up and you...

Re: Sample Changing Sound When Dragged Into Audio Track

Damn, part of me was hoping it was that even though I would've felt like a fool. But it's not that... Really confused as to why this is happening. I'm basically screwed until I can figure out what's causing this. Edit: It does sound normal when put into a drum rack, so at least I can do that. But I ...
