Re: What are you biggest challenges to completing songs?

Mixing - because it's hard. I've yet to produce a mix that I'm fully satisfied with, but I'm learning new things all the time, and I know I'll get there. Procrastination + thinking too much and too far ahead, and getting overwhelmed. Procrastination sucks the joy out of the things I should enjoy and...

Re: Alchemy

Soniccouture tweeted about it and said "they smell apples" Who knows.. but I think it's pretty shitty they couldn't offer more notice or some kind of explanation beyond "Oh hey we're closed now and will offer you some support for our products for few more months." *sigh* I know t...

Re: Is soundcloud ruined?

I took everything off my soundcloud account and now just use bandcamp. If you want to charge money on bandcamp you can if you want to give your music away you can do that also. Yeah, I think Bandcamp is the direction I'm heading in. You get great looking pages, embeddable players, sell options, and...

Re: Custom built laptop

Good processor and SSD, but I don't think the specs are that great for the price (but you say computers are more expensive in Italy.. so I don't know). I would want at least 8GB of RAM installed and the ability to add up to 16GB.

Re: Free Mastering

I politely waited for August 19th to come and go before posting this, but have any of you tried LANDR.com? You waited patiently to post a link to another mastering service in this thread? lol LANDR looks interesting, but their terms of service says you can't release anything they master commerciall...

Here's some real census data on some of the most racially segregated cities in the US: http://www.businessinside...

Re: Seattle VS Portland

How easy is it to get around in cities like Seattle and Portland without a car? One of the things I loved about living in Chicago was their PT.

Re: How often do you change your workflow?

^haha

I'm learning a lot lately and it's really helping me to pinpoint the counterproductive and completely backwards ways I work sometimes. I'll always experiment and explore, but hopefully I'm moving in a direction where my approach is more focused and deliberate.
