Re: Maschine - Ableton Live - Focusrite Saphire 24 DSP
I've had good experiences routing audio to/from Maschine with JACK OSX (or JACK if you're on windows).
I have a Saffire Pro 14, and it's a nice interface, but the Mixcontrol software is a bit weird to me and I generally don't use it unless I absolutely have to.

But gotta start somewhere before I play with python. The hell you do! Learn Python the Hard Way was written specifically for people with no programming experience, and Stanford CS 101 starts up again in just a few weeks. Finish those and you'll be more than prepared for Google Python Class , or to ...

Re: Why can't manufacturers just make a plain Midi keyboard?
New Samson Graphite announced at NAMM has some of the stuff you don't want, but doesn't go overboard with it, remains small and light, and has aftertouch. Still no price info. Doesn't go overboard? It looks like a nice bit of gear but for someone that doesn't want ANY fancy controls I see faders, k...

Re: Drip.FM
I've been curious about the direct-to-vinyl releases but haven't gotten any, and am behind on the last couple Medicine Show releases, and there's more new stuff that's gotten my interest, so this is the ticket. Stones Throw answered a few questions about this on their forums; Only Stones Throw rele...

Don't get me wrong, I love Southern rap—both the good stuff and the ignorant ass party/trunk music—I love a ton of artists who came up through the No Limit/Cash Money/Rap-a-Lot ranks. But that doesn't change the fact that the No Limit we used to know filed for bankruptcy in 2003, there was a fairly ...

Don't know Stones Throw but that's a really cool concept I hope more labels adopt. With Def Jux on hiatus and Rawkus having been bought by Geffen/Interscope, then splitting back off when Geffen went under and subsequently establishing a partnership with Sony, Stones Throw is the biggest independent...

Wow. Awesome. Fucking awesome. I have never spent anything approaching $120 in a calendar year on Stones Throw releases, but I'm very strongly considering subscribing to this. I really hope that in a couple of months PB Wolf or someone else at Stones Throw does a public writeup on how much revenue t...
