Re: Ableton 10.0.2 performance loss.
there is definitely something wrong with 10.0.2, feels sluggish, top menu bar fills up with weird graphic lines, sluggish overall performance compared to 10.0.1, hiccups, occasional crashes ? I've not changed anything except updating ableton. Can anyone point to 10.0.1 download ? Please Abes ...

Re: 15" 2015 rMacbook Pro vs. 15" 2014 rMacbook Pro
the Mac Pro is already a very competent machine and outperforms iMacs/laptops with same or even higher rated speeds.. simple reason is that despite online geekbench scores and the like which are short term transient speed tests , Mac Pro is meant to perform at its peak capacity and stay there withou...

new mbp with sky lake processors are just around the corner to come out..so id wait to see and of course others will drop in price. they say the new processors are expected with a 10-20% boast in speed, but who knows what others goodies may come..id wait a little more , few months at most i think.

Re: Difference with spectrum analyzer on or off?
Does it make any difference on the sound? Because i think i hear some difference :S I agree with you--I've always detected a tiny bit of high-end boost or transients whenever I use most spectrum analyzers. Although, I've read somewhere recently (I think it was "Mixing Secrets for the Small Stu...

Re: Bloody TR-8 latency!!! Please help.
Thing is I've got the TR-8 midi'd up through the MOTU Ultralite, so you think it would be solid. Just need to figure out how to adjust the midi clock out compensation, as I've never done it before and have no idea where it would be. in preferences go into midi sync tab, theres a delay setting under...

Re: Bloody TR-8 latency!!! Please help.
the problem is , Abletons midi clock sync is an afterthought to its audio abilities, therefore midi sync is not a priority. second, USB midi by default is very jittery , never consistent as many other interrupt processes reside on usb busses..so 2 major humps independently screwing timing...yet ther...

Re: MacBookPro Early 2011
for those with a 2011 mbp, apple admitted fault(class action lawsuit) and will reimburse if you paid to fix it for overheating, logic board or graphics issues and/or will cover any damages till February 2016 for free

Re: MacBookPro Early 2011
the fan noise is ridiculous mm, the Macbook Pros based an on Intels "Sandy Bridge" are known to be hot. There were quite a few reports on this on forums and such. Many motherboards died because of faulty graphic cards. The thermal paste on the CPU were faulty applied on some units too. La...

Re: MacBookPro Early 2011
i have this mbp , it can run a lot and its from 2011 almost as fast as new rMbp!!! but...the fan noise is ridiculous, especially when its right next to you and a second monitor automatically engages the turbo props..quite annoying after a while..next machine will be silent , will not overlook this

Re: High End Monitors
1. is your room treated before taking on high-end ? 2. will these be at a desktop or freestanding (distance is important) , where will they be placed ? if your on desktop >1m away, forget opal, too much power...if your next to a wall, forget genelec, back firing port...see where I'm going ? these ar...
