power conditioner - sure, to be safe and keep electrical noise to a minimum.

if you mean analog signals, then sure, but only because you're framing it in the context of a high end listening environment ...

who the here has ever seen any of this crap in a studio (let alone a home studio )

I've seen power conditioners and inch thick audio cables at a mastering studio I used to work at and in that environment the difference is noticeable.
