Re: Channel EQ or EQ8?

Thanks for circling around to this, folks. We are of like minds. Maybe they want to think of adding an UPGRADE button to the Channel EQ that converts someone's current settings to the EQ8. That way they can be in the moment (show a client where the mix is headed for example. Or start a live looping ...

Re: Channel EQ or EQ8?

Terekith, why do you think they put the shelf at the frequencies they did? 100, with a slight shift for the low. I do like the additional low-pass on the upper end. 20 down to 8K into cranial pitches makes sense. If I ran out of macros on a m/s (which I completely agree with, btw) grouped EQ8, where...

Channel EQ or EQ8?

They have around the same CPU draw. Light in either case. Which do you think is a better channel strip eq for iso instrumentation tracks? Trying to assemble my default audio track. Admittedly 8 bands is likely overkill for carving out a good eq. But I have a pretty good group device that has most of...

That's a genuinely good tip. Best outside audio editor: none. Just drop into simpler...

For non-ableton related tasks, I end up with audacity most of the time...And I've gone through a slew of options (which I still use for specific purposes, like RX)

Re: B-Section tips.

good thread. I shouldn't be the first to reply because I'm not particularly good at framing the needs of a B-section, but I'll offer some of my starting points *bring your initial ideas into a new session, perhaps set up suited for other stages in the songwriting process. *rest the initial idea and ...

Re: Some ideas for color collections. What are yours?

Sparkles, I think you could accomplish the same thing in a way with the "Favorites" label, as it were. Although a category as such could get out of hand real quick, I might imagine. My system is working really nicely. It's not that I planned to do this much background prep for my library. I have a l...

Some ideas for color collections. What are yours?

I love using ableton to it's fullest, but I've been racking my brain figuring out a good use for the color label collections in 10. My first idea has been to assign a color for "performance" and another for "studio". The distinction being that some plugins, some m4l, some racks, have the potential t...

Re: Ableton Live 10 - whats your favourite new features?

Capture. Hands down. Sure there's more music to be made with the other features. But this really takes a load off for what is a very real phenomenon, where rehearsing something has all the intended feel. And then when you go to record you realize something about the performance has changed. Or perha...

I'm not going to be very helpful, but I love the ingenuity in this already.

Re: Overdrive and Pedal (Live 10) Audio Effects

that's good to know. I can't wait til they open more slots to beta testers. And I'm trying to pin down the final devices that I'll commit to stay's DDC on nativekontrol.com I already upgrade a few 3rd party plug-ins that are around the same price as the early bird special on ableton. And surreal mac...

the hardwired, inflexible way to just get this done could be to engage IAC or your equivalent internal midi listener, and assign that note to the speaker icon of the source audio

Re: Is Clyphx the Answer?

The excitement comes from asking "what if..." and "imagine if I could..." that sort of thing. Articulating what you would need to have happen in order to accomplish it. Order each step that would make your life easier. And then translate it into a clyphx action list. I was not good at scripting when...

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

USD 239 for upgrade from suite to suite. Got it. And pardon if this has been mentioned before, but could anyone confirm the upgrade price if I buy or register a Push 2 between now and the 10 release? Do I save $40 off that quoted price and pay $199?
