After a failed eBay auction, the new price on Live 6 (boxed, with EIC) is $220. That's not too shabby a deal, considering you can get Live 7 for just $120 more with that license.

I have a pending offer on Operator. If it doesn't sell, the new price is $80.

Thanks (and sorry for the bump).

FS: Live 6, EIC, Operator and Sampler

Well, I hate to say it, but Apple's successfully lured me back into the fold. I loved Live, but Logic is really more my speed. So it's time to find a good home for all my Ableton software: Live 6 Boxed (with EIC): $250 Operator: $100 Sampler: $130 Includes ground shipping in US. International buyers...

Not sure how it works on individual controllers, but in Live you can just drop the midi effect called "Velocity" into your midi channel. Don't have it in front of me at the moment, but I'm sure there are "max" and "min" controls you can adjust accordingly.

The world's collective IQ was just halved. I hardly knew him, but we were acquaintances from the FL community (he was a developer, I was a tester/demo writer). Without doubt, one of the most brilliant, friendly people I'll ever have the honor of knowing. I don't think many people realize what a tale...

Just a note to those who are experiencing insta-crashing of Live on OS X when you load Automat 1.0 -- make sure you copy the included presets into: ~/Library/Audio/Presets/alphakanal/Automat1 If that directory exists, but is empty, Live crashes when you load the plug. If you delete it, it loads fine...

Does anyone have an opinion on the following, which I've been doing lately? I've been using one audio track which has a lo cut filter at 100hZ, to which I send all tracks except the bassline track and the kickdrum track. This has really cleared up my mix, and it all sounds a lot better to my ears. ...

1) Spending all of your Memorial Day weekend putting the finishing touches on a few new tracks and spending hours trying to get the mix perfect. And then listening to your tracks on your car stereo on the way into work and hearing nothing but overpowering, rumbling, crackling, belching bass that alm...

I'm a programmer as well, doing OO programming in C#. :) I was about the post the OO analogy as well until I saw someone else already had. And its not even an analogy, as implementing this feature is really just a matter of creating references to an object (a pattern object, presumably) rather than ...

Yes, I'm seriously surprised this doesn't get more whining. It seems to be just one of those standard features thats taken for granted in other DAWs. In fact, if it wasn't for this omission I would've bought Live at 1.0 instead of 6.0. I guess the cool factor finally built up enough by 6.0 to make m...

Most of these gripes would be solved if something similar to FL Studio's simple approach was implemented: If it can't find a sample, it simply: 1) Recursively searches the equivalent of the library for an exact match file name. 2) Recursively searches any number of pre-specified search paths for an ...

I'm sure there are 1000's of threads on this, but as I'm here I'll ask the question...has anyone had any problems with Live 6 on a Mac with Intel duo core processors ? Nope, no problems at all. Runs really great. Nice thing about cross-platform apps like Live is that you don't have to relearn every...

Your friend has a lot of good ideas indeed. Thanks for sharing. Here are some pieces of my own personal formula, that can indeed become formulaic, but at least should help give you a starting point: 1) Composing melodies and basslines: Start on the A key, and go up and down from there on the white k...

I've owned both, and I have to say I prefer Ozone. But it does depend a bit on the sound you're after. While both are mostly used for maximizing levels, I'd say that (in typical usage) VW has a more raw aggressive sound, while Ozone is more transparent. Or to put it another way, you'd use VW to get ...
