Not sure what kind of difference 64 bit audio will make (except make freeze files fecking massive), but hat least it should stop people worrying about the quality and let them concentrate on their music. . It will make zero difference to audio quality its just another PR sales tact that all daw man...

Still no groove function?! Last straw for me. And why do they keep adding these shitty, overpriced drum machines/synthesizers?
What the hell is Ableton? A DJ too, a DAW or a production station? It's certainly not all three.

Re: pitch detection for drum samples

how can i detect the pitch of a drum sample i.e. a snare or a kick ? is there any software that can do it for me ? Actually detecting the pitch of a drum hit is quite difficult, no software will do it accurately. The base frequencies of these things vary so much that it's just noise really. Unless ...

Re: Negative Waveform with Synth Recordings

Hi, I'm recording some synth parts here and then editing the waveforms. I noticed that the waveform goes negative before it goes positive. This is right when the synth first attacks. Does this mean that something is out of phase? Maybe the cable I used to record with? my preamp? what could it be? N...

Hmm, strange problem there. It must be something wrongly setup in PatchMixDSP.

Hmm, I really like Radio Amour but I think he needs to change his sound. From album to album techniques and sounds seems to be pretty stagnant. I don't know what he's using, I guess something like Live as a sequencer/sampler and a hardware reverb and distortion unit. Nothing too fancy. Maybe a littl...

There's three rules for mastering; This Izotope stuff is shit, it'll simply ruin your music. It's designed to give an instant 'wow' factor. There's a lot of critical listening involved in mastering, not just smiley face EQing and monstrous compression. thats bollocks...why not use ozone carefully a...

There's three rules for mastering; 1) Never master your own work 2) Never let an amateur master your work 3) If it sounds like your music needs mastering, it probably needs a better mix This Izotope stuff is shit, it'll simply ruin your music. Novation V-Station Crash in 6.01

I had a similar problem in Live 5, but it seems to exist in 6.01 as well. When I drag V-Station into a track, Live will either intantly crash, or randomly crash soon after. Shame, because V-Station is a great sounding VST. As a side not, any one own an actual hardware Novation X-Station (that's the ...

This looks very interesting, and $30 really isn't a lot of money... But it's really the sort of thing that would sell much more if people could demo it (I know this isn't really possible). Also, shouldn't Ableton have something built-in to handle this? It seems a little strange to me that it is left...

To be honest I wouldn't touch ANY Digidesign gear with a bargepole. Frankly, I'm surprised you don't need to power them with coal.
In my experience, DigiDesign would happily fuck over a user to save a few pence. I'm one very unhappy customer, I can only hope other have a better experience than me.
