Re: Can you recommend a place to get cassettes pressed?

3 pages and not one real answer? It would help if you would state where you are ... http://audio-service.biz/ Good service, cheap prices (actually cheaper than cdrs) - there's a catch though production wise: Tapes are usually recorded both sides in one "take". Due to the lenght of the tape being no...

Re: LFO Everything used non-commercial licensed m4l patch code

I DIDN'T steal anything. So, Julien Bayle is a liar and a thief. To anyone who had a look at the code posted above this is perfectly obvious. There is no doubt or possible coincidence. And he even claims his rewrite in javascript (!) with 3 fromsymbols (!!) is faster ... Both your code and your beh...

Re: Can a patch cable degrade over time because of you have used

Could he mean physically running over the cable with an amp on wheels? This of course. Sure will "come back to haunt someone". What ark says about impendance is quite true too, guitar to amp w. high gain is more demanding that patching a synth to a sound card. My guitar picked up a radio sta...

Re: Ableton Live Lite (free) vs. Live Intro

here's a comparison chart between APC edition (similar to "lite") and Live 8 http://www.ableton.com/pages/2009/apc_40/comparison_chart APC version has 20 scenes? The scene limitation is the only thing that bugs me with live lite. Might as well look for a apc licence on ebay ... I don't need a apc t...

Re: Desktop Speakers

I have the smallest edirol monitors as desktop speakers and they are quite ok. There are some cheap models by m-audio too that I eyeballed. Didn't listen, only read reviews. The advantage over "real" monitors is that you have volume control on the thing itself (=no mixer), maybe even a eq (turn donw...

Re: Do you reckon Native instruments are going to build a daw. .

I highly doubt NI will put out a DAW. This would go against what seems to be their modular philosophy and approach in the way their tools are designed. meh ... the same could have been said before they started to do hardware. And their hardware isn't modular in that sense at all. A "daw" aimed at p...

Re: What Ableton IS KEEPING SECRET about Live's audio engine...

But what is typically meant in these cases by doing a 'digital null test' to see if different programs produce a different output (or have a different 'sound') is comparing the final digital output of the same data from each program. Of course it can be compared, it's the same or it isn't, as far a...

Re: Have a professional master your songs, do it yourself?

i was just asking because with the "$400 in profit"-example you gave I still make a loss with demo mastering @ your place with 13 tracks on my cd wich doesn't sound so much to me. If it gets replicated with some type of error on my end, they don't get their replication money back, so they're paying ...

Re: Have a professional master your songs, do it yourself?

- There's cheaper options now. In the past mastering meant about $1000 per CD to have done, and it still is that price (rightly so) at the larger mastering facilities. But lately there's certainly a lot more budget options available to people as well, some good, some bad true, but at least the play...
